This place is in my top 5. Foods perfectly seasoned, the buffet is on the hotside. But takeout is always really good.
A warm and inviting restaurant for delicious, authentic Indian food. The menu has so much variety we will be back soon to try many more dishes. We ordered goat curry and it was fantastic - the best I have had in the Kitchener Waterloo area. Make sure when you go to bring the whole family!
This was literally the worst Indian restaurant I've been to. We went during lunch thinking it would be a buffet, but then the manager said it wasn't. We weren't the only one's who asked. Another customer left knowing it wasn't buffet. False advertisement. We were hungry, so we decided to dine in. We ordered Chicken Korai and 2 nan on the recommendation from the waitress. We were the only ones in the place, but the food took almost half an hour to come. We didn't complain about that and waited patiently. And the wait was not the worst of it. The food itself was EXTREMELY salty! I could taste grains of salt at the bottom- it was that bad! We were so disappointed. In addition, the atmosphere was very dull- there was barely any lighting and the washrooms were so unclean! You wonder how they make their food. We went to this place based on the reviews. I honestly don't know how this place got such positive reviews. This is the most honest review you'll get based on my experience. Extremely disappointed. Not going back.
My girlfriend mentioned that she had never had Indian food before, so I raced to the internet to find an Indian restaurant that had a buffet option so she could try as many delicious dishes as possible. It was late, and our budget was tight, so we decided on Raj Rasoi. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions and we couldn't have had a nicer night out. The Tandoori Chicken was fantastic. This was a great way to introduce my better half to the flavours of India. Now if you'll excuse me, I must lie down.
Casual dining, very friendly happy customer service, Beautiful waitresses. Fresh, Tasty, floral flavours. Will need to better display meal accoutrements such as cooler filled with chutneys and garnishings, and better napkins I will visit again soon for more tastiness flavours and those beautiful eyes.
Took my dad here for his birthday. Worst restaurant I've been to. We walked in, no one greeted us so we figure we should just sit at a table and start serving ourselves. No customer service, had to walk up to the cash register to ask for everything. Food was awful. the curries were watery, meat was extremely dry. Rice had become hardened because it had been sitting under the heat lamp for too long. Who knows how old the food was or how long it had been sitting out for. Will not be back.
Food is old and cold. The restaurant is dirty . Butter chicken tastes weird; the tandoori chicken is very dry and look like the chicken from last week. Nan is ok. The worst Indian buffet I have eaten. Definitely not come back and not recommen to anyone.
Update Feb 2018: Unfortunately quality of buffet items has gone downhill, chicken is not tender and sauses are very watery/oily with less taste. I assume they are cutting back to try to make more profit. The naan is still great though.
I wanted Samosas. It had started to become a family joke that the only thing everyone loved to eat was Samosas; but, there was nowhere nearby to get good ones. I happened to be in Kitchener one day and noticed this little Indian place just as I was leaving town. I stopped to get a bag of Samosas. The next time I was going to town, i was given orders to get more. Who was I to argue? I love Samosas. I bought 50. If you haven't discovered this little community gem yet- I highly suggest you give it a try. The menu is extensive, delicious, and affordable. They deliver, but if you feel like popping by, they have a Buffett and a bar. It's a great place to relax and have a few Samosas after work. The owners are friendly and happy to chat. The atmosphere has a cozy family feeling. And if your driving back to Fergus or Elora- it's on the way home.
It doesn't present well. From driving up it looks fairly average in terms of local Indian buffets. The interior is unremarkable, if not dated. The food is also unremarkable. It's not bad necessarily, nor is it good. It's just there in buffet style service. The butter chicken was so watery it was like soup. It lacked flavour. Several dishes tasted similar enough I had difficulty distinguishing them once on my plate. Everything was at best "buffet average" with several sub par offerings, and nearly everything with a sauce of any kind was watery. Not liquidy with rich flavourful broth, but watery and diluted. The tandoori chicken wasn't much of a tandoori chicken. The naan bread was the high point of the meal, arriving in mass quantity in baskets on the table. It had a nice texture, it was cooked well, and was tasty. It's a pity it had no equal at the buffet. The bottom line is that for the same price and effort, I can go anywhere else and have a better meal. It's not awful. It's just that every other Indian place I've tried in k/w is better. It's rare that I'm left with an uncomfortable food feeling after eating at those restaurants. I have that feeling now 60 mins after my meal.
