Authentic South Indian style food. A franchise but good quality and service. Not as spicy or delicious as Mississauga style, but I'm sure you can ask them to spice it up if you like. When we have time we will still visit Mississauga south Indian places but locally this is a decent fast food south Indian place to visit. They used to have a lunch buffet but recently ended it. A little pricey , but good overall. We will be back. Friendly service and the food was fresh and tasty.
I really like Indian food and they were great! Got a lunch special, they were preparing for a birthday party by the looks of it.
Very good service and good food. However I think it was a little expensive for what I was served. The Chicken Tikka Masala that I ordered was 14$ plus tax. Id say there were about 10 pieces of chicken in the dish. However, it was tasty!
Heard good things and gave this place a try. My friend and I lucked out going when we did because we were the absolute first people to try their new buffet. The selection was pretty good and the food itself was delicious. The butter chicken was perfectly spiced and so tender. Good flavour all around. Some of the starter items were a little bland on their own but you are supposed to have them with the various chutneys and whatnot provided. It was obviously very authentic stuff. They made a point of saying that they make all the sauces in house. The lentil soup was yummy too. The service was excellent; very attentive. Maybe even too attentive but I think it was a cultural thing and they were also really looking for feedback on the new buffet. I felt the pricing was appropriate too. I would come here again.
My coworkers and I have frequented this establishment on 6 separate occasions now: 5 times for lunch, and once for dinner. I've found the quality of the food to be superb. Probably the best naan in town, and the thalis are delicious. The selection for the lunchtime buffet was perhaps a bit small, but nevertheless quite tasty. If you are looking for a decent Indian restaurant in-town, this is it.
Great food and really attentive staff. If you are not used to Indian food, you can find it a little too spicy. The butter chicken was great! But the fresh home made naan bread, was heaven!!! Lots of options. We got the buffet to try all the 18 items. Really worth it.
You better order quick otherwise the aroma of these spices will leave you no room for those DELICIOUS dishes! Walked into the restaurant for dinner and we got seated right away! We ordered the Butter Chicken since it was recommended by many of my friends!, The Butter Chicken was served in a medium circular pot; didn't anticipate it to be such a good taste. I also took Tandoori Chicken which was far the best i ever had. This is the best restaurant i have been gone so far. Staff are very nice and friendly. They took very good care of us. I have been to the restaurant 6 times and 6 times with great experience.. Butter Chicken Rate: 5/5 The sauce was very nice. Tandoori Chicken Rate: 5/5 Very nice dish. Meat was nice and moist. Butter Naan Rate: 5/5 Very large naan, nicely charred from the tandoori oven. It was tasty
Staff is friendly, from what I heard it's a family business. The place is clean and the service is good. The food is quite good, though not 5-stars good. I'd give it 4.5 if I could. A friend of mine called it "white people Indian food", but she's exaggerating. Definitely give it a shot if you're downtown looking for Indian food!
Man oh man. Where to begin? The owner was incredibly nice, thoughtful, and accommodating. He took the time to explain the items on the menu - what they contained, how they are made, and what an analogous taste would be. The portions were absolutely huge - we had another full meal's worth of food after we stuffed ourselves initially. Overall, this is the best place to get Desi food in the KW region. Heck, id venture to say they are even better than most places on Gerrard St. in Toronto.
Amaya's service is practically incomparable in Kitchener. The owner and staff are the friendliest of any restaurant I've attended: they are always interested in explaining their food and providing the best experience for their patrons. The food is rich and flavorful, and there is considerable variation to their menu. There are many vegetarian dishes, to that note. All the dishes are priced very cheaply, especially in light of the quality and portions of food they serve. As other reviewers have noted, the restaurant in general is also extremely clean. I have returned to Amaya many times and will continue to return. I hope others are as impressed as I was.
