Midas

Called in for an appointment for an oil change (been coming here since I moved to Ottawa almost a year ago and been dealing with Mike), was told to come in for 2pm on Feb 20. Went in at 1:45, the guy at the front desk said its been very busy and he forgot to schedule me in, but the wait would be about 1-2 hours. He did not take any ownership of his mistake or apologize. So glad a simple google search brought up an Oil Changers location with excellent reviews and without a 1-2 hour wait :)

This is a pretty easy review: Go here with confidence knowing that they aren't going to screw you around. My brakes went on my car, I brought it in and they gave me a firm price on what had to be done in 30 minutes. They explained everything and it made sense. They called a couple hours later saying the work was all done. Fast service. Trustworthy. Efficient. Fair price. Dealerships want over $100 to even look at your car. Midas was $30 and if you have the work done than it is waved. Stop wasting your money at dealerships and go to Midas in Bells Corners.

Expert knowledge. Fair prices with great warranty on parts and labour. It's all about the warranty.

Saved me $200+ dollars when Mr. lube said i needed my differential oil change done but they assured me i have another 40,000km at least. Didnt even charge me for checking.

Went in for their $29 dollar oil change and routine inspection. Also had a $5 coupon mailed to me with their exclusive address on it that said could only be redeemed at their place. Was told I couldn't use the coupon because that price was a special sale price. Odd, for the past two years that sign has always been out front of all the Midas stores in Ottawa. Was also surprised to learn I had to pay a premium price for a "special" oil filter. Odd, it's a Pontiac G5 and everywhere else seems to allow for their standard filter that's included in the price including this Midas location on previous occasions. I am giving a second star only because the price was discussed with me before services were rendered and I really wanted to get this inspection done. They identified I required new rotors and a new bushing. They were absolutely correct! Thank you. However, the bushing would of cost me $75 plus labour. I bought the part myself for $11 at Prime Choice auto parts in Stitsville. Took my business elsewhere for the installation of the new parts. New mechanic showed me that my brake pads were dangerously thin. Midas said they were still good.
