Had a wonderful experience with food quality and service here. We had Clam Chowder, creamy coleslaw and the McNie’s special which has Halibut, shrimp and Scallops and fries.nAll are made to the point of perfection. We have tried fish and chips in so many places but this is the best place to go so far.nSeafoods are fresh, the batter is so crispy but we can feel a little bit of chewy on it. Fries portion is generous.nI dont think that I can go to other fish and chips place after trying McNie’s.nWell done!!!
Ultimate Guide: McNie's Fish & Chips RevealednnHi pvcrazyforfood viewers,nVisited McNie's Fish and Chips restaurant to try their Halibut fish which I have been told is that they are The King of Halibut. I started with trying Crab Cakes with tartar sauce, and then I was served with fresh and hot Halibut Fish and Chips. I also meet the current owner who purchased the business from Mc Nie's in 2005 and since then they are running the restaurant. This is a decent place to have a nice fish and chips. They are also known as THE KING OF HALIBUT. I gave 6 out of 10 for their HALIBUT and chips.nnShout out to Ross for recommending this restaurant tome. So I visitednnMcNie's Fish & Chips, 315 Burnhamthorpe Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9B 2A2nnThanks again. Please like, Share And Subscribe My YouTube channel.
I had their Halibut fish and chips... absolutely the best I've ever had since my days at Jane and Wilson - Crang Plaza, late 60s / early 70s. The piece of Halibut was the thickest, biggest, and most consistent I have ever had... and their chips are also amazing!!... I ate them all, and I usually don't do that at other fish and chip shops. I have never been here before, but I will make a point of stopping every time I want fish and chips. Thanks for such a great meal!!
A small cozy restaurant on a busy street. Service was fast and the waitress was very nice. Food was excellent though I would prefer to have less batter on my fish but it was still delicious. Fries were thick but crispy outside and soft inside. They give you lots of fries so order accordingly. They don't serve alcohol. The entrance is a bit tricky. We were lucky to find a parking spot a couple of steps from the restaurant and you cannot find a better spot than that. Prices are competitive. We will definitely go back.
McNie's Fish and Chips is a true gem for anyone craving authentic British fish and chips outside of the UK. Having grown up on the coast of the UK myself, I can confidently say that McNie's brings an incredibly genuine taste of home right here in the GTA.nnI recently had the pleasure of ordering their cod and haddock from their menu, and I was instantly transported back to seaside memories with every bite. The batter was a masterpiece—crispy, light, and expertly seasoned, it encased the fish perfectly without being greasy. Each piece of fish was tender and flaky, clearly fresh and of high quality.nnWhat sets McNie's apart is their commitment to authenticity. From the first crunch of the batter to the delicate texture of the fish, every aspect of their fish and chips reflects a deep understanding of traditional British culinary craftsmanship. The portions were generous, ensuring a satisfying meal that leaves you wanting more.nnAccompanying the fish were a side of golden, crispy chips—thick-cut and perfectly salted, just as they should be. The combination of the moist, flavorful fish with these hearty chips made for a classic pairing that's hard to beat.nnMoreover, McNie's attention to detail extends beyond the food itself. Their packaging ensured that everything arrived hot and fresh, preserving the integrity of the meal even after delivery. The service was prompt and courteous, adding to the overall positive experience.nnWhether you're a Brit missing the taste of home or someone eager to experience authentic fish and chips for the first time, McNie's Fish and Chips is a must-try. It's not just a meal; it's a nostalgic journey to the seaside, delivered right to your doorstep. I highly recommend McNie's for anyone looking to indulge in the best of British comfort food
