Matty Eckler Community Recreation Centre

Good place to warm up, charge a phone and use the washroom while visiting Matty Eckler Park.

It is a recreation center. There is a pool in the basement. There is basketball court in the second floor. A ping pong table on the second floor.

It's a little older, and slightly worn around the edges, but the staff are super friendly and helpful. The pool looks to be 25 yards rather than metres. Water temperature is cooler than some of the neighbouring city pools which can verge on the geriatric end of the temp scale at times, so it's fairly painless getting out of the water. Also, the shallow end is a little deeper than in some of the newer pools making flip turns a little more feasible if you're so inclined. See what I did there?

Nice and clean. Did my Standard first aid and CPR C certificate. The staff was polite, humble, respectful and caring. If you ask 10 times They Will explain over 10 times. I am happy they hired young instructors. The best thing was not far from home plus for lunch time there is a mall across the street

We rented a room here for a baby shower. The booking person was really helpful Kendra maybe? she answered all our questions and got us setup properly with a time slot, tables and the rest. After all was said and done the cleanup attendant was right there to take out the recycling and garbage. Easy rooms to setup, lots of tables and chairs provided. It's a good central location for cars or transit.

Went for the leisure swim here. The facility is clean and organized. The building is a bit older but the staff take care to keep it maintained. No parking lot for the centre unfortunately but there is street parking on the side streets not too far away.

Nice little community centre in the east side. The indoor gym is pretty decent with OVO Toronto black and gold padding on the outer walls. Tip: If you like ping-pong there are some serious competition with more experienced seniors.

FIVE table tennis tables indoor!! Old but good.

The only thing I do here, really, is the drop-in volleyball on Saturdays, so that's all I can really talk about. Not a lot of people know about this rec center and let's keep it that way haha.., so it's usually the same people that come out every week. It's a decent level of play most weeks, and you get to play with people you know, which is great too.

Very quiet place. Workout room unsure if open Pool. Wood working shop unsure if open Gym upstairs.
