I like that the rice rolls are thin, but the way that they make it is simple laziness at it’s finest. I’ve eaten chives my whole life and the shrimp with chives dish really should not look or taste the way that they cooked it. The congee had a super fishy taste to it, the century egg was not cooked properly either. I saw them visibly go microwave my egg tarts and brought it straight to me from the microwave with the dough still raw… the only saving grace for this restaurant is that again, the texture of the rice noodles are good. I would not recommend anything else from here and I usually give a lot of leeway to Chinese restaurants because I grew up used to their service and the quality of food. But this is on another level.
I like that this place opens early. A place to entertain my niece she loves the Chinese donut and congee here. Rice rolls are good too but they’re not like the rice rolls you usually get at dim sum restaurants. Service is decent. They only have one server most of the time and there’s also lots of pick up orders. Cash only. Before 11am they have a rice roll and congee combo that’s $12 if I remember correctly.
Very decent rice rolls! Average around $9-10/dish the fillings are topped above the these wrinkly rolls. I had imagined they were stuffed inside. The ingredients are definitely more than expected. Even if hungry, don’t get more than 2 rolls if you don’t want to take any home. One good thing about this place is while other places have a long wait time, this place you can sit down right away. Dishes all come very fast so turnaround is immediate.
With a name like Master Rice Roll, you can assume that they know how to make a good rice roll. They also serve a mean congee with crispy Chinese donut and snacks like spicy wontons. They have rice roll options that you don't see at dim sum restaurants like the beef and shrimp rice roll or the beef brisket rice roll. The rice rolls are tender here. Beef brisket was also good wish there was a bit more sauce. Would definitely come back here if I was in the mood for rice rolls. Ordering system not the best. You order online with your phone and it glitches from time to time.
Nice small eatery which serves Cantonese breakfast and lunch dishes. Rice rolls are their main or signature dish which you can have a good choice of toppings with it. Food tastes are nice without excessive MSG. Congee is well cooked from quality ingredients. The restaurant is clean and well organized. It located in a corner of a mall but not difficult to find.
They have lots of flavours of rice rolls to choose from. The taste is decent/average. The price is expensive in relation to the product quality and amount of food you get. The restaurant is clean. Tried the beef entrails and radish rice roll. There was one radish slice. The taste was fine and there was assorted beef liver, kidney, lung, and intestines.
Always nice! Authentic rice rolls and clay pot rice! The congee is flavourful and smooth. Service is homey and warm, especially if you speak Cantonese. P1 Tired the clear rice roll for the first time and would definitely go back! Opens early as well, perfect place to take parents!
Wouldn't Return. Higher prices than Yin Ji Chang Fen, worse product and slower service. What triggered me is that they would take cash, plus AliPay and WeChat but not any credit cards or even debit. A primarily Chinese neighborhood does not excuse this. This should be illegal. If you're going to take electronic payment then take all forms. Tax evasion won't look pretty if you're caught.
Tasty congee especially the fish congee, and decent rice rolls. If you come between 230-430p, you can order them together as a combo for $16 which saves you $2-$4 compared to ordering a la carte. Their rice rolls aren’t as silky as they usually are at dim sum spots, but I like how there is some cabbage stuffed inside for added texture.
Price is reasonable and rice roll are tasty The only reason of taking away one star is because it’s not the best or my fav Cantonese food in my life.
