I recently had the pleasure of dining at Masala Bhavan, and it was a fantastic experience! The MB Special Dosai and Uttapam were both delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of authentic South Indian flavors. The Chettinad Soup was absolutely delightful, with a rich and aromatic blend of spices that really hit the mark. The Masala Fish was another highlight, beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection.nnThe staff were friendly and attentive, making the overall experience even better. If you're looking for a place that serves authentic and flavorful Indian dishes, Masala Bhavan is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommended!
I really like this place! It was my first time visiting and I was amazed by how professional the staffs are, how fresh the ingredients and how delicious the foods are; and most importantly, the foods are not oily! The staffs were very mindful when suggesting the spicy level on dishes and in the end I was very pleased. I tried their chicken vepudu roast, lamb biryani and mango saffron rasmalai. They have an open kitchen for naan bread making and I snapped a video. Will definitely come again and bring more people. Thank you!
July 24, Dine In - DinnernnChicken Vepudu : appetizer, not very appetizing - mostly a tomato based chicken roast. To say this was tasty is only cause the other dishes were so sub par.nLamb Meatball Curry : tried very hard to identify what the flavour is to the curry, but couldn’t. Seemed like a generic curry pasty with lamb balls in it. Very hard to eat, couldn’t waste either since it’s lamb.nMixed Veg Korma : not a korma since the tinge/taste of cashew paste was missing. Most veggies are Costco naught pre cut, cauliflower/potato were restaurant prepped.nGluten free bread just a variation of plain dosa+utthapam : true the the name, would recommend over naan and good for curries.nnNot sure the high rating, must be people who stick to the safe option of Dosa - which I will assume they do good. We generally try other items not popular in reviews to give the restaurant a holistic review - if not for the dosas I would give this restaurant a pass.
Food 2 nWe ordered the idly-vada combo, MB special dosa & Rava masala dosa. The sambhar-chutney alongside each item was extremely poor. Though the idly was soft and fluffy, the vada were uncooked from the inside when we explained this to our server, she said she will replace but then “forgot” about it. The stuffing in both the dosa was super less, if you are pricing a dosa at $14-15 you need to ensure you provide food that matches the price you’re asking.nnService 1nThe service was extremely, we waited nearly 20mins for idly-vada to arrive and then another 20mins for the dosa to arrive and we dint go there at a super busy time. We dined in at a super less peak hour on a Sunday around 3pm.nnBecause of inadequate quantity of food and extremely slow service I will not be returning here again.
