Confession: I’m actually not a huge fan of Indian food but Green Chili has converted me. We live in the neighbourhood and ordered takeout on a whim. In the past two weeks, we’ve come back three times - it’s that good!nnI tried their Coconut Curries the Beef and the Fish is my favourite but you can get it vegetarian, with chicken, lamb or prawns also. After one taste, I was hooked. The sauce is so flavourful and delicious. It’s not spicy at all but if you want a bit of a kick I’m sure they can add some spice for you.nnThe Tandoori Chicken is another my favourite. It’s SO GOOD. Layered with flavour and the chicken is juicy and tender.nnWe also have tried their Butter Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo spicy but delicious and Chicken Biryani and all were tasty. The Biryani container was literally bursting with rice and chicken.nnThe Garlic Butter Naan is a must. The only thing that wasn’t amazing was the Fish Pakora. We just wanted it crispier so this might not be a great takeout dish but the fish itself was nice.nnLooking forward to working our way through their extensive menu!
Rating is based on cost for quality. Our first experience of food at this place was great however, in my recent discoveries this is not really that authentic in their food. Go for a more family owned Indian restaurant; not a chain.nnThe coconut rice tasted like plain rice.nnFor the cost I was expecting more authentic quantity but overall alright.
This is a neighbourhood gem. It’s a takeout only restaurant, and everyone I’ve met who works here is friendly and helpful. Most importantly, the food is delicious! The quality and flavours of the dishes are excellent. We chose milder dishes and even our 2 year old tried and enjoyed some of the food! Our faves this time were the Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Paneer and Dal Makhani. Note that they DO have rice on the menu some older reviews indicate that they don’t.
We’ve ordered takeout from this restaurant before and had good experiences, but this time was disappointing. The butter chicken tasted like it was cooked in plain sweet tomato sauce, and the chicken was overcooked and tough. The paneer seemed hastily thrown into a sour-tasting sauce, and the coconut chicken was likely made with a different sauce and featured overcooked chicken breast cubes.nnIt’s clear the quality has declined, and it no longer lives up to its 4.8 rating.
This is my new favourite restaurant. I ordered the veggie samosas, veggie pakora, butter paneer, saffron rice, garlic naan. It was DELICIOUS. The portions are large enough that I am getting multiple meals out of them. I wish I’d taken pictures but I tucked in too quickly haha!nI can’t wait to try more of the menu. Stellar!!nDelivery was super quick and my driver was so nice.
