Really nice dessert spot in Chinatown! This is a nice little shop on the corner of Centre Street that sells a huge variety of desserts including ice cream mochis, jellies, and more! There are a bunch of seasonal limited options that change as well. It opens nice and late unlike a lot of dessert shops which makes this a great place to hang out after dinner. They set up 3-5 tables and chairs outside in the hallway for customers to sit at after 7-8pm! The food is great! A little expensive but the portions are big, sweet but not overly sweet, with maybe 15 minutes of waiting for your order. Nice staff and cute looking decor! You can park outside along the streets in Chinatown. Highly recommend!
Wanted to visit this place for a while and I finally had a chance. It was my first time trying sago and Mama Dessert did not disappoint. The girls there were very quick and friendly. The place is nicely decorated and they have two small fish Food: 5/5
One of my checkList DONE We are here around 8pm and we line up for 10mins to order and wait for able 20 mins for foods. We ordered mango mochi ice cream mango glassjelly with taro balls mango mochi ice cream Its very good! Nice and cold, and we love the texture of the mochi We also saw they make it fresh for each order mango glass jelly with taro balls I would say it's just ok… very sweet. And many flavours mix together. I'm not a big fan of this. Will be back for mochi
This place offers a variety of desserts, but the overall presentation is a bit lacking. Most of the flavors are decent, but the texture of the taro is not great, and the tapioca dessert comes out hot without the option to choose, which is puzzling. The taro ice cream is recommended and has a nostalgic taste, but the added taro toppings might be a bit old. The strawberry and mango mochi are cute and tasty. The mango mochi, though not visually appealing, has a good taste with whole fruit inside. As for the hot tapioca dessert, it's best to avoid it, especially during hot weather. The taro issue also extends to this dessert.
Ordered the mango taro paste grass jelly taro sago, it was enjoyable with a satisfying portion size. taro ball was a highlight! Chewy and delicious! My friend had the durian sago and found it delicious as well. The only downside was the long wait, but the desserts are worth it. Will definitely come back when the line is shorter.
They open until midnight, which is perfect for us after our dinner. They have 2 little tables outside for dine in. The staffs were really nice and helpful. They helped us to choose. Their menu is creative and has a lot of options. The dessert is huge, I think it should be good for 2 people/ portion.
Decent amount of variety for a dessert place. Quality is good, not great. Had one bad dessert come out tasting very sour when it should just be sweet - they remade it right away. So, good service, quick service for how busy it can get for good desserts.
I ordered tofu, grass jelly and Taro balls. I like all of them but the brown sugar is a little sweet. Tofu is soft and delicious. Grass jelly has good texture when chew. Taro balls are chewy. The bowl is too small. If they use bigger bowl and put more water, it will make this dessert perfect and not too sweet. Overall is good.
Lots of tasty dessert options served here. They even open late! I really like their mochi mango as it doesn't have cream fillers like other places.
Went on a weekday afternoon and there were a couple parties ahead who needed to order. The menu has a lot of items, which can be confusing for first-time customers. We ordered a mango mochi and one bowl with coconut sago and taro ice cream. The price is a little high, considering the items, but the volume of the bowl dessert is quite substantial. There is an adjacent paid parking lot with limited spots and then parking along the river. Would recommend as an experience.
