KLEIN / HARRIS is an independent restaurant concept, inspired from the diverse bounty that Canada has to offer. Located in downtown Calgary on Stephen Avenue, KLEIN / HARRIS highlights the stories of passionate Canadian producers with the use of exceptional products and ingredients. Working with a long list of national heroes that make True North Cuisine possible, Executive Chef James Waters focuses on distinct coast-to-coast Canadiana dishes; a culinary journey that begins in the West to eventually end on the East Coast, highlighting ingredients like wild seasonal mushrooms from British Columbia and fresh notable oysters from The Maritimes.

Partner and cocktail curator Christina Mah offers an elevated libation program that features both tried and true Canadian creations like the Tiki Horse made with distilled Alberta Dark Horse Whiskey & B.C. Rootbeer Bittered Sling Extracts alongside venerable classics like The Vancouver circa 1950. Both partners take an honest and humble approach to what they do best, fuelled by a shared passion for what authentic Canadian ingredients and techniques have to offer.

Here my honest review about my experience at Klein/ Harris.  Hidden on the corner of Stephen Ave. From the moment you walk through the door, there’s a beautiful vibe and ambiance, perfect for “Table for 2”.  So if you’re trying to land a second date, check this spot out for your first date   The hostess is always pleasant with a warm welcoming smile, that lets you know you’re about to be pampered.  The food was delicious, started the night with some delicious cocktails. Jumped in on some 3 way toast, took a nice cruise on the main dish, some crispy pork loin served with potatoes and veggies while singing “isn’t she lovely” in my head, and ended the night with some nice dessert.  Now, you have to forgive me for not remembering the names of the dishes, but just check this spot and I bet you won’t regret it.  The last star is for the portion, I honestly wanted some extra potatoes and veggies to clean off the sauce on my plate. But overall, an amazing experience.

Love the place, I have eaten here before and have had a wonderful experience in the past. Their appetizers are an absolute delight to explore. This time around, I got the daily special a smoked burger... presentation is 5/5. Soup and tarts, amazing. However, in spite of the Class 1 - A 1 presentation, upon taking a bite of the burger, it turned out pretty undercooked. As expected from the establishments superior customer service, the waiter addressed the matter expertly and immediately, providing various solutions to the problem... ultimately, the burger was waived from my bill.  Honestly it pains me not to give this establishment a 5/5 overall review based on my previous experiences...will most certainly drop by again and update the rating accordingly.  Vegetarian options: Wide array of choices  Parking: Plenty of options for parking...considering it is downtown, heavily dependent on the time and day.  Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs and accommodating staff  Dietary restrictions: Staff will ask ahead of placing the order.

This place was good. The server was good, robotic and not well versed, but we were, so all good. We ordered the oysters...but they were out at 7pm on a Saturday. VERY disappointing as one could expect, I mean come on, oysters? yumm! we were very excited for them. No biggie, got the pork belly toast would come back for that 100%, next we wanted the scallops as advertised, but we got a bunch of baby scallops. Not at all what we wanted or thought we were ordering from past experience combined with the photos of the dish online. We would have said no had the server mentioned the dish was changed like the oysters but we we not told, so again, disappointed. I mean I'm sure on another night it could have been good, but very meh our night, probably won't be back but who knows. I think when you book a restaurant you google it and research the menu. If you are out of a few key things, and not even being told from the server before brought to the table with replacements, is reason enough for me not to 'wing it' there again.

Absolutely phenomenal service! Very kind waiting staff, plenty of selection available for anyone regarding drinks, dietary restrictions and types of eats. Food was delicious, had the Friday special, Roast & Toast and I was very pleased. Good size portions and you get exactly what you pay for.  Vegetarian options: Plenty of options, both appetizers and full size dishes.   Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian options were available. Even asked before leaving with our order if there were any additional concerns or dietary restrictions that any of us had!

I had such a great evening here! The service, the food, the atmosphere and decor, all fantastic. We ordered what felt like the whole menu and everything was delicious. My favourite item was the mushroom ravioli. They closed at 11 but let us stay longer to finish up our meal and desserts.

Happy Hour at Klein & Harris.  We ordered one of everything on the menu.  We loved the burgers.  They were the perfect size for. a snack.  We carried out tummies out with us

Great atmosphere. Unfortunately, they were a bit short-staffed, but the service we got was always impeccable. We were seated near the open front door where the smell of people smoking outside wafted in a bit too often for our taste.  We got the Crusted Boursin Cheese, Lettuce Wraps, Candied Pork Belly, Crispy Pork, Alberta Lamb Shoulder, Triple Chocolate Cake, and Cheesecake Mousse. We very much enjoyed almost all of the dishes, although the lamb seemed a bit overcooked.  We would certainly like to come back to try the other dishes.

The staff were amazing from step one, they helped me understand my allergy options on the phone before the dinner and the staff were so knowledgable about everything! Our server/the bar manager Justin was fantastic, the food was on point and the portions were so perfect, each dish's flavour profile was well balanced and flavourful in a different way which lead to a lovely culinary experience. Kudos to everyone at Klein/Harris for this lovely spot, for sure a must-stop for anyone who loves share plates and well executed flavour and presentation!

Amazing place. Very nice atmosphere, the food is fantastic and well thought out, and the service and top notch!  When you go here, it's nice to sit at the bar where you can see the kitchen cook your food in front of you and you can talk to the chefs and ask the anything. Super friendly staff.  Would definitely come back.

Amazing! Took my boyfriend herre for his birthday. Our waiter Justin was fantastic and attentive. He was knowledgeable and personable. The other staff were great as well. The food was delicious. Must get the duck or pork people! Everything was perfect and we will be back again. Thank you for making our little night out special.
