We are spoiled for choice for excellent Mexican favourites in Toronto and this place is another option to consider. It's a little bit on the nicer side in terms of ambiance or 'vibe' . Cocktails are great here! We tried the Palermo and the 'conflict and compromise'. Both were great and very enjoyable. For food, we started with the shrimp ceviche then had tacos. The ceviche was really good - lots of shrimp that was very fresh. Fish tacos were okay - not a lot of fish but still filling. Chorizo tacos were not too heavily spiced or greasy. They could have used a bit more seasoning/spice for my taste but they tasted more on the 'healthy' side. Finally the churros are spectacular. They're on the smaller side for the price but well worth it. Tl;Dr: highly recommended for a special meal but focus on the dessert and cocktails for the most part. There are better options for Mexican food around the city.
My friend and I came on a Sunday afternoon, I was the first patron at the restaurant and I chatted with the staff while I waited for my friend. The staff is super nice and friendly! The food was awesome, I enjoyed my birria tacos as they were not too greasy. Food was tasty and I loved the creamy green salsa. They also have live music and different shows throughout the day. Definitely worth visiting this restaurant!
Amazing experience! Well priced. Seafood lovers paradise meets Mexican! The owner came to our table and was super friendly. Our cocktails were fabulous. Can’t wait to return. The live music made the evening even better. Great servers.Food: 5/5
Me and a friend made reservations for a Saturday. 5:15. We arrived and everything went smoothly. The service and servers are all amazing and very attentive. The drinks /tequila are good and definitely not stingy on the alcohol. When we arrived, it was just starting to fill up. I just love love the vibe of this restaurant . It's absolutely fun and amazing. Great decor and lively ambiance. All of that is a 5 star. My issue was the food. I gave it a 3.5 star. I love tacos and have tried many. The food is just okay. Great portions - the fish tacos are very good, the birria was very dry . Elotes are great corn. I also liked the ceviche, which was served in a pineapple. Vegetarian options: Not really much.
After discovering this restaurant on Instagram, I knew I had to visit. So my wife and I made a reservation for a Friday night using OpenTable. Note that you have to pay to confirm the reservation, but you only get charged if you don’t show. I wasn’t worried about that. We knew we were going! We got there at 7 and were seated just inside. There’s a nice patio and it was a nice night, so they keep the doors wide open. Which is good, because the mariachi band showed up and started playing soon after we arrived. They stand in the doorway facing in. From what we gathered, this is due to a bylaw that says they can’t be on the patio and/or face the street. I could be wrong. But in any case, they were amazing and the music is perfect for the atmosphere. Our server arrived right away and took our drink order, and we also ordered guac and chips to share. We’ve been to many Mexican restaurants around Toronto, the US and even in Singapore I know - why eat Mexican in Singapore? But that’s another story, and these were among the best guac and chips we’ve had. The guac was perfect, and the chips are the kind that are a little thicker and crispier without being burnt at all, and not oily. Absolutely delicious. We could make a meal out of just that and be happy. But we didn’t! My wife ordered the Molida Beef tacos, and I ordered the Molcajete Mixto. For dessert we ordered churros of course! and an ice cream/peanut brittle creation that our server said was amazing. She was right, but let’s get back to the mains. The tacos were perfectly seasoned and easy to eat - not an easy feat with tacos! The soft corn tortillas are the right size and the right kind of stretchiness to manage your eating, and they’re delicious and complement the spices perfectly. And let’s talk about that Molcajete Mixto! It comes with chicken, beef, and shrimp, in a delicious mix of beans, vegetables and a really nice broth that you can dip your tacos into. The meat was so tender that you could bite into a taco and not ever worry about pulling all the rest of the meat out with one bite. Exactly what you want and so delicious! We will definitely be returning again. And again.
Went to this place for a friend’s birthday. Had a great dining experience with Mariachi band playing. There is something or the other happening. A really good Mexican restaurant with good vibe and food. Would definitely recommend this place. Better to reserve first before going. This place can get full in no time.Food: 5/5
Because of BLOGTO we decided to try this Mexican restaurant and it is now my favorite Mexican restaurant in all Toronto!!! 10/10 food is soo damn good. Flavor and seasoning in their meat and dishes are so good. The drinks are all different but so good. I can’t say enough how much fun and good experience we had. We happen to go on a day they were full but they still accommodated us and we got to witness a proposal too. Live mariachi too! I thought Añejo restaurant was good but this place is far better. Price is a bit pricey but for quality you can’t complain. If you’re looking for cheap food go else where. This place has quality and great taste and super good service ! Thank you BLOGTO for showing off this place as it’s now our go to for Mexican exotic food !! keep up the great food, service and drinks amigos !!! Arriba Mexico !!!
Came to check out the hype for myself and wow did it ever live up to it. Great atmosphere and decor! The service was A1 definitely above and beyond anything I expected . They had live performers singing and playing guitar which was a nice touch. The food was absolutely amazing . We had the guacamole with the chips which was super fresh and we also had the Birria tacos which I highly recommend! Also thr I believe it was called Carnal Stole My Chicken tacos those were my fav! You can really tell they use high quality fresh ingredients! Definitely make a reso and get down to try it out I’m definitely coming back!! There is lots of parking on king street and surrounding side streets .
Toronto has been keeping a secret from me. I was blown away with the food and cocktails at this place. Fresh. Delicious. And the staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely gonna be a go to spot on my list. And definitely a place not to overlook. A must try!! I got so overwhelmed by the food that I didn’t even get to take decent pictures. Will do on my next visit. This was no doubt authentic Mexican cuisine.
This spot is a vibe. The food, service and entertainment were a 10/10. There was a lot of work put into this place and it shows. I recommend getting the Gordita Sliders, Molajete and the Lamb. The only things I would mention is soft tortillas should be served with certain entrees and remove the avocado from the lamb because it doesn’t need it. The cook and flavors are good on their own; maybe could use some fresh cilantro, onion etc. I’m excited to come back when you guys officially open. Thank you for the amazing experience
