Had a really nice dinner here Sunday evening, sat outside on the heated patio. The food was really good! The star of the show was definitely the quesabirria. I highly recommend this dish if you’re coming here for the first time. The guacamole is also really flavourful. Service was friendly and attentive. I did initially want to sit inside, but it was a little loud. Overall, great experience and will visit again. Vegetarian options: They do offer one vegetarian taco item that is filled with spicy potato. Parking: Street parking
I loved the pleasant customer service and the cute yellow-accented decor. The food was ok too. We had guacamole and chips. The only thing I would change is to have the guacamole served at room temp instead of cold I know the chill was to keep it fresh. I had the spicy potato tacos. It was good. I tasted the pork ones and the beef. Both were not bad. I would go back and recommend it for a try.
I never tried dipping tacos in broth before so I was hyped for this spot and it did not disappoint. Hitting the beef tacos with the broth was an explosion of flavour, temperatures and textures. The salsas that accomplished it were very tasty too. You can tell that anything you order from the menu will not miss due to the competence in the kitchen. I’ll be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommended.
Staff was super friendly, and the food was really good! One of the best tacos I’ve had in Toronto so far. It was quite warm inside so patio seating was perfect. Great for small groups!
This was my first spot to try out in Toronto. It was very good and it had a nice little set up inside. The tacos are on the bigger side. I got 4 tacos and I ate like 2 and a half lol. They came with broth, guacamole, and another sauce. Very reasonable priced. The waiters/waitresses were very kind. If you love Mexican food, then you will definitely love this spot.
Having experienced the food culture in Mexico, finding comparable taste and flavor here in the city proved to be quite challenging. Fonda Balam certainly is a top contender! In my opinion, the tortilla can make or break a taco, and these guys definitely have it figured out. The food was super flavorful and fresh and the service and atmosphere were wonderful!
First off, the patron slushie is just a flavour explosion. They are served in small glasses but that did not stop me from ordering them all night. Well worth it regardless of the sizing! The service was extremely friendly and timely. They also took my allergies very serious. Everything we chose to order was wonderful, 0 complaints. The Quesabirria con consome was definitely the standout dish hands down. Overall a trendy, organized, and delicious experience.
Was alright, nothing special. portions are decent - though a bit pricey overall in my opinion, definitely making their money off of the drinks. We ate on patio which was simple and cute, but no music and minimal atmosphere. Not sure the cloth napkins match with the picnic tables. The inside is cozier and closer. glad to have been on the patio, wouldn't want to be inside on a busy evening.
It's not a great option for a vegetarian. The guacamole appetizer was really good. However, they had only one vegetarian taco on their menu. Dessert: The avocado ice cream mostly tasted like passionfruit and lime, but the cake of the day was really good chocolate flan? The atmosphere and service were nice. Would recommend this place to a meat eater but not to a vegetarian Vegetarian options: It's not so good. Only one vegetarian taco on the menu.
Unique bar type indoor seating perfect for a date. They have a minimal and hip atmosphere with unique glass bubble windows, circular light fixtures on the walls, cute plants, and colour accents of turquoise and yellow! Their heated patio has tables that are better suited for larger groups. Great Mexican food - would recommend the quesabirria con consomé, which was their beef birria taco but elevated with extra crisp and melted cheese! The quesadilla style cook on the taco gave it more structure to hold up well to the dipping broth. The consomé dipping broth was super flavourful and a perfect pairing to it! Tangy, savoury, with an intensely beefy flavour. Would be nice to see fish/seafood tacos on the menu in the future. No reservations, so first come first serve.
