Luma is located on the north-west corner of King and John Streets, on the 2nd floor of the TIFF Bell Lightbox.

Story

Luma takes movie nights to a whole new level as part of Toronto’s hottest entertainment destination, the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Located at the corner of King and John Streets, the Bell Lightbox is home to the Toronto International Film Festival, and houses five theatres, three exhibition galleries and Malaparte, a dramatic sixth floor event space. Paying homage to Toronto’s rich, cultural landscape, Luma’s menu showcases global and Canadian artisanal cuisine featuring the finest local and regional ingredients. Executive Chef Jason Bangerter’s original, imaginative cooking is the perfect complement to Luma’s warm, inviting dining room, designed with rich woods, leather and stone and outstanding floor to ceiling views of King Street West.

Luma is open for lunch on weekdays and dinner from Monday to Saturday. Drinks and light dining are also available in the lounge. Enjoy innovative cocktails and a rich, diverse wine list.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. Great food and dessert, menu definitely improved over the years. It was 4 years since I have been here. I had the roasted cod and will definitely order it again. A little pricey though.

This place has potential to be good as the food and wine selection is excellent and they have good priced special cocktails. With that said the pricing on their wine menu makes no sense when a cab/sav is $30 a glass. We were a large party this evening and the service for our party was beyond horrible, many people had to order their drinks 3 times, finally he last waiter actually complained that he was overwhelmed when it was pretty simple. Please have the appropriate amount of staff on duty and please offer food to your patrons. I was shocked with how slow the service was.

Came here for Winterlicious. Had the bone marrow for a starter which was really good. The grilled beef strip loin came cold for all 3 of us, but they gladly replaced the dishes. We finished off with honey sponge toffee which was also good. Service was very friendly as well. Good ambience.

The service was fantastic. The venue is well designed and spacious. Enough room to feel private but still experience the overall experience of the space. Granted, they were 2 days in to a new menu however my dish (The Duck) missed the mark. The sausage and the overall salt content overpowered all of the other elements of the dish. The duck was overly tough. Looking forward to the opportunity to trying some other parts of the menu as I feel this may have just been an off dish. Great overall experience.
