I am incredibly disappointed with the experience my friends had at this location, and I feel compelled to share how unacceptable the treatment was.nnWhile at work, I called ahead to confirm whether an item I had been waiting for—due to delayed shipment—was finally in stock. I was informed it had arrived, so I stepped out of work to purchase it. When I arrived, I was told that purchases were limited to ONE PER PERSON. I completely understood and complied, purchasing just one.nnBefore leaving, I casually mentioned to a friend—who had been searching for this item at multiple locations for their birthday—that it was in stock here. I browsed the store briefly to see if there was anything else to purchase, didn’t find anything, and then left.nnShortly after, I was shocked and appalled to learn that my friends were accused of being related to me or being my boyfriend, which led the staff to refuse to sell them the item. The staff falsely claimed the store was “sold out,” even though it wasn’t. My friends even offered to show identification or provide any verification necessary to prove they were from separate households—which they shouldn’t even need to do—and they were still denied service.nnWhen I called the store to address this issue, I was informed over the phone that the store was, in fact, NOT sold out. This blatant dishonesty is deeply disappointing and highlights how poorly the staff handled this situation.nnI understand the store may receive a high volume of calls and customers, but fairness and consistency are essential. The manager mentioned fairness over the phone, which I found hypocritical. If the policy is one per person and first come, first serve, it should apply equally to everyone. Changing the rules and giving different explanations to different customers is not only confusing but also unfair. For example, when I initially called to inquire about holds, I was told the policy was FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE and no holds were allowed. However, the way this situation was handled shows a clear lack of integrity and consistency.nnThis also raises a major concern: how does the staff determine who is related to whom or who is associated with another customer? Are they profiling everyone who walks in the door, or were my friends unfairly singled out? This approach is unprofessional, discriminatory, and entirely unacceptable.nnI believe this situation went far beyond an attempt to ensure fairness. The staff’s actions were discriminatory and appeared to involve racial profiling. Denying service based on baseless assumptions and refusing to sell items that were clearly in stock is not only unethical but also unprofessional.nnI urge the company to provide proper training to their staff on professionalism, customer service, and discrimination awareness. This situation could have been easily resolved with simple courtesy and consistent enforcement of policies, but instead, it was handled in a way that felt targeted, dishonest, and deeply unfair.
I like the London Drugs chain it's 10x better than Shoppers for sure but this particular store is awesome. This is my go to for snacks and pharmacy, great friendly in every department, fast and well priced Photolab, solid Tech department and great prices everywhere. Can't recommend more.
I have been trying to purchase new Pokémon cards and have been unsuccessful every time. This London Drugs had just received a restock and there was a post on a public page informing locals of this. I showed up to the location at 10:10 and notice a friend leaving the store and waved at her as she left. We step up to the customer service desk, I ask the rep how her day is she did not smile or even look happy to be speaking to me and the lady told us that they were sold out already. We tried to ask again in case there was some confusion but she said that the friend we waved too lived with us and that she CANNOT sell us anything. I pleaded with them as I have ID that will verify that I am independent and they still refused. The London Drugs workers racially grouped us together with our friend, assumed we lived together and was asking us to leave the store. I was embarrassed and publicly disrespected in front of everyone present. I asked them if it’s because we are the same race as the lady who waved at us, and then the workers got very vocal and aggressive over this observation we made and we had to walk out after all the verbal abuse that was being thrown. We called back to ask why we could not purchase as policy is 1 per household and we had identification with us as well. They argued and fought until we asked for management, they reluctantly agreed and then we went back in to purchase what was being held from us. The item I asked for was “sold out” by the time I went back in. This item in question was still being held from us even after going through so much. The manager who ended up helping us said that the staff has been over whelmed with calls and customers but that does not give them the right to take that frustration out on a another PAYING customer. The management and customer service was hostile, disrespectful, rude, condescending, during this entire interaction from start to finish. Disappointed that this is how I was treated when I simply came in to purchase myself a birthday present.
If you’re looking for great service, knowledgeable staff, and competitive prices, head for THIS location! Chris, George, and Heather @customer service made our shopping experience worthwhile. Great selection of microwaves for this trip. Never use microwave popcorn in a microwave…sigh! Price matching. What else would you expect. Customer service IS #1 . Kudos!
This is a great store with a huge selection of products. They have an amazing electronics department with televisions, computers and cameras. They also have a good selection of small appliances and even some food. There is also plenty of free parking.
