It’s a nice Bangladeshi restaurant with huge dining areas. We ordered fuchka, chicken roast and plain Polao rice and Beef biriyani. I would say Fuchka and chicken roast were very delicious . Fuchka was 10 out of 10, Chicken roast and Polao was 9.5 out of 10 and Beef Biriyani was 5 out of 10. I might visit again to taste their fuchka and other food.
Starting with a positive note- Borhani was great! Star is only for Borhani! Our server was nice and friendly. We ordered Chicken Chaap and Beef Chaap served with 2 luchis, salad and pop as our server recommended when we asked. Both chicken and beef chaap tasted like fish curry! It feels like they just poured gravy/ sauce from fish curry on beef and chicken. Meat wasn’t cooked properly- hard and chewy and also mostly fat. Luchi was super oily and not puffed at all. We had to wipe the oil from luchi with paper napkin. Consequence- Had stomach upset next morning!
This is a Bengali restaurant with good varieties of food. It has ample dining space and on evenings is usually busy. It was my first time trying Bengali food and I loved the Mughlai Paratha with the egg filling and crunchy crust. I also liked the chicken pakora and the dip given with it was amazing too. However the chicken roast was just not for me as it had a very strong taste of star anise. The place is well maintained. The service is a bit slow. About the ambience, when I went there I could hear people fighting inside the kitchen loud and clear which was not a good sign to me.
This was our first time at lobongo restaurant. The ambience was really good compared to other Bangladeshi restaurants. We ordered mutton kacchi biriyani, two borhani, beef chap which comes with a soda and two luchi, and two masala milk tea. Kacchi biriyani was so yum and tasted exactly like home. It had that authentic smell and flavor. However, it was kinda pink in color; may be they just messed up the food color that day. Beef chap was more like masala steak. It wasn't tender but taste was great. We needed cutting knife to chop it down. Borhani was just like biye bari! Maaala tea was quite good as well. Customer service was great compared to other Bangladeshi restaurants. This place is not cheap, but it's totally worth it. We would definitely go back again.
Just to clear up the name confusion, this is a very regular restaurant. Nothing about the ambiance or service screams “fine dining” as they have put it. Food was decent, the only dish that I genuinely enjoyed was the Chicken Biryani; rest were okay. Service was okay, nothing that stands out. Also wanted to add their fuchka, pani puri, gol goppe is non-veg, they literally have boiled egg dressed on top for no reason that affects how the taste is, very weird.
I recently dined at this restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was charming, and the staff was incredibly attentive. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, and everything we tried was outstanding. I particularly recommend the Mutton Kachchi – it was a flavor explosion! The presentation was on point, and the portions were generous. Top it off with their delectable desserts, and you have a culinary masterpiece. I can't wait to return for another memorable dining experience! 5 stars all the way!
This place never disappoints. They have the best authentic bengali food on the other side of the globe far from home. The restsurant have ample dining space to accomodate quite a big party 20-30 easily and still they maintain the quality and taste. Booking ahead is recomended. Definitely recommend this place for kachhi biriyani, ilish shorse , chicken roast and mutton curry. Pair this with the polao and that makes the perfect dinner for any occassion. Ps: Forgot to take picture as the gang was hungry as a bear
We went there a few times. We tried their beef tehari, beef sheesh kebab, beef haleem, beef chap combo, iilish polao, Kala bhuna, mutton kachchi and borhani. The food tastes so good; we forgot to take photos for the first couple of times! The tehari was just right, not oily, with enough chunks of meat and perfectly cooked rice. The chap was different than what you’ll get back in Bangladesh it’s not a chap, let’s be honest. They used a T-Bone steak, but it tasted great! Both the haleem and the kebab tasted good as well. The borhani was ok, too thick for my liking. They have a lovely spacious interior. This place is perfect for having a Bengali meal with your family. Also, if you want to introduce someone to Bangladeshi cuisine, I’d recommend this place. We’re going back to taste their remaining menus! their service is really slow sometimes it may take around an hour!, so be patient when you order.
Tasty Bengali food. Food came quickly despite being busy, service was attentive & pleasant. Decor is nice, but groups will sit close to each other. Dietary restrictions: Offer but free and other options.
Good Bangladeshi food, beef curry was great. Quality sometimes is inconsistent, but overall good. Borhani was really good.Food: 4/5
