We came here on a Monday night around 6 pm and they were already sold out on lamb and pork belly skewers. That is quite disappointing as we were hoping to try those items, it is surprising that they could be sold out just from 6 hrs of opening.nnThe food we tried were fine. The eggplant dish was flavorful, chicken and salted fish fried rice was good. But in general I would not return, as the overall experience was just okay.
The food was delicious however it took a very long time to get our orders and there were only 2 staff there while the entire place was filled.nnI really like all the additions in the especially the blood, intestines, and the white chunks of idk what. Did not fill half the bowl with bean sprouts like other places haha.nnThe mapo tofu was also definitely more on the numbing than spicy side compared to other places I’ve been to.nnedit: in june 2024, i’ve been countless times since and it still hits every time. the waiting isn’t nearly as bad but i think the water boiled fish portions got 5-10% smaller.
Visited this restaurant on Sunday with the girls. Taste wise, the food was quite delicious and definitely satisfied my cravings for spiciness. BUT, we found hair in the spicy fish. That was a big turn off. Out of all the dishes we ordered, i actually liked the eggplants the best. It is quite different from the other places that offer this dish.
Food is decent here. But it’s the everyday home-cooked meal that I can make. I’d call it comfort food, not gourmet. It’s a place I’d like to visit when we run out of ideas but still wanna eat out. The portions are pretty generous here. Therefore very cost effective. The eggplant dish was exceptional. That’s something would definitely bring me back to this restaurant again. I really liked it.nnThe reason I’m giving it a 2-star is because of their service quality. The servers are doing bare minimum to serve you food. And ordering is through the phone. We asked for a side of cilantro, the guy who served it spilled it all over my friend. You can tell he was not in a rush, so it’s not because of how busy they are. He’s just not putting any effort in doing his best job. We were really fortunate that he wasn’t holding a hot dish with soup otherwise my friend will be at the emergency. After which, no manager showed up to apologize. No compensation at all except for a fresh dish of cilantro. It’s a big deal for me at least.nnOverall I wouldn’t mind coming back again if I didn’t have to wait.
Updated review: I went by this week again and was blown away by how much better the food was. I ordered the cauliflower again, which tasted excellent. The eggplant was probably the best I've ever had. The spicy boneless fish melts in your mouth. I will be back!nnPrevious: This is a fairly new restaurant that offers barbecue food and other delicacies. It is tucked away on the second floor near Opus Hair. The food was overall good and we got our orders very quickly. I noticed they have two private rooms in the back, which is also nice. We ordered the lamb and chicken skewers, the fried rice and the fried cauliflower dish. Everything was great, except for the cauliflower that tasted off - as if it was fried with plastic or the oil used was bad. We couldn't eat it and wasted it. Apart from that, the experience and service were lovely. We will come back.
