Been to this new location twice, great atmosphere, good service , but the food is quite mediocre.nnThe lobster was fresh both times, but the flavor was just average. The first time we had the steamed lobster, extremely plain because it didn’t even have the usual garlic or scallion to add flavor, which was surprising.nnYesterday we tried the non-spicy Hong Kong style fried lobster, and it was unexpectedly sweet — not quite the classic flavor I was expecting.nnThe steak is also not as flavorful as I would like, and I think it’s overpriced $100.nnExcellent service if you compare to other Chinese restaurants, 12% tip is put on the bill. They don’t accept credit cards.nnThe new location is beautifully renovated, upscale and elegant. It’s a nice place to host guests or business dinners. But for casual family gatherings I’m not sure the value matches the price.
Took my mom here for her birth day. WOW this place is huge. We went for the set menu which is very good deal. As it is my mom birthday day we got 15% discount. Note it has to be the exact day and bring ID. They actually ask manager come to check ID. Food is amazing and plenty of- we order set menu for 3 it was too much food for 3. In the set menu there is lobster, steak and veg and soup. Every dish is cooked to perfection. And oh desert too! Note they add 12% automatically for service fee for set menu. I’m not sure if they do this cross the board or just set menu. I don’t mind it. The service is pretty good, for some it may feel bit rushed but it is pretty good to me. Food come very quickly. The place environment is like a huge banquet hall, I bet ppl can do big party and wedding here. I like it and I will bring my team here celebrate Christmas.
One of my go tos and favvvv resto in the GTA!nBest lobster and steak ! Can’t compare this to the steakhouse because it is delicious ! Every time i come here it is consistent ! The steak is only cooked medium rare for people who prefers well done sorry this is not for you.nI recommend everyone trying this place! Its worth the wait and the trip! Cheers
We had a fantastic lunch at Jumbo Lobster. We ordered the lobster mountain, dry-aged steak, and garlic short rib. Everything was rich in flavour and cooked perfectly.nnThe interior design is gorgeous, and the booth seating is very comfortable, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and upscale at the same time.nnOne small note: there is a 3% surcharge if you pay by credit card. It felt a bit odd for such a large, established restaurant, but it didn’t take away from an otherwise excellent food experience.nnWould absolutely return for the food alone.
We went to Jumbo Lobster Restaurant this morning for a group of 12. We took a set meal with a sea bass, as well as some dim sum. The restaurant is huge; we had gone before when it went by another name and they had renovated it completely. It has an upscale look and feel.nnThe service was ok but not attentive, mostly because it’s a massive restaurant and it was packed solid. Today is Family Day and the day before Lunar New Year so it explains the crowd size. We made reservations weeks in advance but were still given a number to wait. The wait wasn’t long.nnThe dim sum was better than the average dim sum restaurants. Some dishes like the steamed beef balls and har gow came with more quantity than expected. They charge $2.75 per person for the tea and you can get different types at the same table. Everything was good, the only thing that wasn’t the best was the lobster fried rice which was very oily. Everything else was perfect.nnBy the time we left the wait to get in was long and there was a huge lineup. I would say this is a great seafood restaurant. If you are only going for dim sum there may not be as many selections as other dim sum places. We didn’t get any lobster because of health reasons but most tables had at least one. The sea bass was fresh and cooked perfectly. If you like good seafood this is a great choice.
