Nostalgic Magic Is Gone — No Tasters & Higher PricesnnI brought my kids here expecting the fun, interactive experience I remembered from years ago. While the ice cream is still delicious and service was quick, much of the excitement has faded.nn* No More Samples: They no longer allow flavor testing. Disappointing the kids after telling them they could try different scoops was definitely a letdown.nn* Flavors: The wild, quirky flavors of the past like rice or wasabi seem to be gone.nn* Pricing: Single scoops now start at over $7, which feels steep without sampling.nn* Silver Lining: The outdoor seating area across the alley is still open as a nostalgic park seating area, and remains a nice spot to enjoy your ice cream.nnIt’s still a classic spot, but without the samples and novelty flavors, the fun vibe just isn't the same.

We had been coming for years with the kidsnA couple of changes.  No longer any samplesnBit disappointing. Scoops are small and prices are a bit steep for what you get. Gelato is still quite tasty though

The range of gelato flavours to choose from 238 if their sign in the shop is to be believed was seriously overwhelming.nnAfter much deliberation, my wife and I decided to try the pistachio and red bean flavours. The pistachio gelato was pretty good, with real pistachio bits inside. The red bean one was also decent, with a strong red bean flavour. Our friend had the durian gelato which was surprisingly good as well.

The ice cream shop was very bright and colorful when I came in on July 13th, 2023 with a friend. There were so many flavors to choose from! I had an delicious no sugar added ice cream from there . It is refreshing for a very hot day. It was the perfect treat for a hot afternoon. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely go back.

La Casa Gelato is an absolute paradise for ice cream lovers. They offer an incredible 238 flavours, which makes the experience both exciting and a little overwhelming in the best way possible. The variety is huge—everything from classic favourites to unique and unusual flavours you won’t easily find anywhere else. It honestly takes a while to decide because there are just so many tempting options.nThe quality of the ice cream is excellent, and it’s clear they put a lot of effort into offering something for everyone. Whether you like traditional flavours or want to try something adventurous, you’ll definitely find something you enjoy.nThe only downside is that they don’t allow sampling anymore since COVID, which makes choosing a bit harder considering how many flavours they have. Also, the prices are slightly above average, but given the massive selection and quality, it still feels worth it.nOverall, it’s a fun and unique ice cream spot in Vancouver, and definitely a place I’d recommend visiting at least once—just be prepared to spend a few minutes trying to make up your mind!
