Bistro français très réputé sur le Plateau Mont-Royal à Montréal ouvert pour les petits-déjeuners, déjeuner et diner depuis 1980.

Famous French bistro, located on the Plateau Mont-Royal in Montréal, opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner since 1980.

En 1979, deux amoureux qui faisaient du théâtre rêvent d'un restaurant beau, bon, abordable, ouvert à tous, tout le temps. Il n'ont pas un sou mais trouvent deux associés pour acheter une maison rue Saint-Denis à Montréal. L'architecte fait des miracles.

Simple, brillant, unique, élégant, accessible. L'Express ouvre le 19 décembre 1980. Un succès immédiat, une première, mille fois copié et imité depuis. Américain pour les Français, bistro parisien pour les gens de New York ou Boston. Montréalais.

Absolutely delicious!! Even the hose made pickle is a blast.nGreat atmosphere, filled with locals even after 10pm on a weekday. Great price point for such amazing food!nThe grilled quill and profiteroles with caramel ice cream are must try.
Came here for my birthday dinner, booked last minute and honestly it was the best dinner I have ever had. Not only was everything we ordered was delicious but our server Alexis and the whole team were amazing. The price is very reasonable and in my opinion on the cheaper side compared to Toronto. Will be back for sure.
Started off with the chicken liver with pistachios, tasted a bit odd to me at first, but got better as I ate more. Also they'll give you ad much bread as you want with it.nnFirst time having steak tartare, so I can't compare it to others, but it's definitely not for me. Couldn't even finish it fully. Salad paired with it was really nice, though.nnConfit Duck Leg was definitely my favourite part of the night, cooked perfectly, and all the veggies were full of the duck fat flavour.

It was the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing dining experience.nnIf you’re looking for a spot in Montreal that combines excellent food, top-notch service, and a wonderful ambiance, L’Express should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!
I visited just before the Christmas holidays and had an excellent experience. Everything, from the starters to the desserts, was fantastic. The service was exceptional. My favorites were the rillette de l’express and the steak frites. Among the desserts, the crème brûlée was outstanding, but the chocolate cake wasn’t to my taste due to its strong dark chocolate flavor. Overall, a great experience!
