Bistro français très réputé sur le Plateau Mont-Royal à Montréal ouvert pour les petits-déjeuners, déjeuner et diner depuis 1980.

Famous French bistro, located on the Plateau Mont-Royal in Montréal, opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner since 1980.

En 1979, deux amoureux qui faisaient du théâtre rêvent d'un restaurant beau, bon, abordable, ouvert à tous, tout le temps. Il n'ont pas un sou mais trouvent deux associés pour acheter une maison rue Saint-Denis à Montréal. L'architecte fait des miracles.

Simple, brillant, unique, élégant, accessible. L'Express ouvre le 19 décembre 1980. Un succès immédiat, une première, mille fois copié et imité depuis. Américain pour les Français, bistro parisien pour les gens de New York ou Boston. Montréalais.

Came here for a birthday dinner and it definitely lived up to its reputation. Service was outstanding. Food was even better. Extremely reasonable prices. Loved the atmosphere, great location. They give you a huge jar of pickles with Dijon and bread to start, so fun!
By far one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Incredible French Bistro on St-Denis. The service is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the cozy atmosphere is immediately greets you.nnEach table comes with complementary pickles, dijon mustard, and bread!nnThe duck and veal kidneys are a must have. Finally the Ile flottante dessert is massive, but delicious.
Absolutely delicious!! Even the hose made pickle is a blast.nGreat atmosphere, filled with locals even after 10pm on a weekday. Great price point for such amazing food!nThe grilled quill and profiteroles with caramel ice cream are must try.
First time here with my wife , I've been here a few times already. The food is always good as usual, we did book online which made it quicker when we came in. My wife had the paysanne soup which wasn't famous to be honest . We both has the steak which was pretty good and the dessert that was delicious .
Came here because this is one of the few places open late on a Sunday. We had a great time. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.nThe place has a diner vibe when you walk in, but it's much more upscale than any diner I've ever been to.nWe shared a bottle of Raventos i Blanc Conca Del Riu Anoia De Nit RosenAll dishes were delicious and beautifully presented.nMy main the shrimp risotto had a deep rich flavor with perfectly cooked shrimp and rice.nWe also highly recommend the meal kidney and the fish soup.nUnfortunately we were too full to check out the desert menu. Will definitely keep this place on our radar for next time
