Story

The first and only authentic Tonkotsu Ramen noodle shop in Montreal that makes everything in house (from scratch) with no MSG.
In order to make our broth, we use only top quality organic ingredients. It starts with 50 lbs of pork bones which must be individually broken to expose the marrow. It is then added together with other ingredients and simmered for 12 hours until it is reduced down to 25% of the original volume. For 12 hours it must be skimmed and stirred to ensure that it does not burn. We do NOT add starch to artificially thicken the broth.
Our noodles are the only ones to be made fresh in Montreal. Our trained personnel, use specially treated water with the perfect pH to get the perfect texture.
We also make numerous condiments to accompany the ramen and ice creams to complete your meal.
We maintain the strictest traditions in order to serve you the best, most authentic ramen.
We hope you appreciate the extra effort we put in to make the Yokato Yokabai ramen.
Enjoy!

Best ramen ever! Would definitely come again but sit downstairs or further away from large groups. Was extremely loud upstairs to a point where a woman screamed and the waiter had to ask her to calm down. Wait time of 45 minutes on Saturday but we took a walk around and got the text when our table was ready. Food is worth the wait! So so delicious.
My friends and I came here and the wait wasn’t so bad. We sat near seats right by the kitchen. The ramen was amazing, the taste was absolutely delicious. The grilled chicken topping is so good! Since we were seated at the bar area near the counter and kitchen, each time there was a phone call, the staff would reach out their arms from over your head. This might be slightly uncomfortable, but wasn’t so bad in my case.
Its either you sit for ramen only, or sit in the restaurant that serves both Japanese tapas and ramen. The tapas we picked weren’t very good although very popular as the waitress suggested. Ramen is good. Pork and chicken broth are creamy, for a lighter dressing ask for the vegetarian broth then add your topping of choice. Service is good, place opens at 5, almost gets fully seated at 5:30 so you better come early.
Honestly quite possibly the best ramen I have ever had in my life. I still dream about it. The broth was full of depth and flavour, right amount of salt. The pork belly serving was generous and just perfect in fatty content. The egg was wonderfully marinated and jammy inside. The noodles were freshly made in-house! Would go back again and again.
Our local friend took us here and everything was amazing! Croquettes were so fresh and crispy, same with the kaarage, so juicy and the portions were generous. The ramen itself had such rich but flavourful broth, it was amazing!
We went here once and I did not want to come back anymore. The service was just okay and the staffs were not welcoming. We arrived around 2:30 pm, which was only 30 minutes left before closing. Maybe that was why they were uninterested. They did not show us that we had to fill out the order sheet if we came for lunch, so we kept scrolling the menu and chose what we wanted. And then when we ordered, they told us that we had to fill out the order sheet. None explained or recommended us about the lunch menu, so we ordered a lot and experienced a difficult time to complete all. Regarding the food, the ramen tasted good at first, but then I just got sick when I tried to finish. The broth was so fatty. Among those dishes I ordered, takoyaki was the best. But I was full when trying to finish ramen, so I could not enjoy anymore. The last one was the karaage, it was great for my bf but too salty for me. Overall, in my opinion, their ingredients were pretty good and high-quality, but I regretted a little bit when I came here with high expectation.
Got there around 6 before it was too busy. The menu is fairly simple - circle your appetizers and customize your ramen on a piece of paper and they take your order. Ordered the takoyaki and karage for appetizers. They were good but fairly similar to what I've had at restaurants in Toronto. The ramen was next level! Some of the best broth I've tasted. I got the least salt option as ramen is usually pretty salty but would have gotten medium salt if I chose again. The beef was a good portion. They give you condiments like chili oil and radish which were super fresh and a nice addition to customize the ramen even more. All in all, probably top 3 ramen I've had in my life so far. When we left there was a big line outside on a Monday, so definitely a popular spot.
Great vibes but very slow service. Food was average. The Tonkotsu ramen had really good flavor but came out cold. The pork was shoulder and needed more fat. Noodle was on the softer side. Broth was very creamy and leans more towards the fishy side. Atmosphere felt like a hidden speakeasy. Servers all very polite. If service was faster, would've been a 3.5/5 for me.
I have tried many ramen places in Montreal and this is by far the best I've been to! Great proportions and ingredients many of which are usually extra in other ramen places. The seasoning that they give you separately shown in the picture is the cherry on the top. It's pickled ginger, sesame, hot chili and grated garlic again it's usually extra in other places. Great service. Servers speak English and French fluently. Really a hidden gem!
This is my absolute favorite ramen place in Montreal. The tonkotsu pork broth is my go-to choice a classic but keep in mind that although the umami is through the roof, it's definitely on the extreme heavier side. Make sure to get a refreshing drink to pair with your meal or finish off with a dessert to balance out that heavyness. I like to add the following extras: bamboo, half an egg and green onions to my ramen.
