Café Chat L'Heureux

About

Many thanks to everyone for their interest in this project. We are thrilled that our dream of raising awareness and improving the welfare of animals in Quebec is shared by so many.
For this venture to be successful, we’ve launched a $40,000.00 crowd funding campaign to help pay for some of the following expenses:
- An air locked entrance
- A kitchen inaccessible to the cats
- A well ventilated cat-only area with play zones and litter boxes
- Café equipment
- Health and veterinary services for the cats
- Pre-opening rent on the café space so that the cats can settle into their new home
You won’t just be making a donation but contributing to creating this new space.
The above are only some of our expenses and in exchange for your support, we will offer generous perks for every contribution scale!

My sister and I visited over the weekend. We loved that the cats were all very friendly! Lots of space for them to roam, cute decorations, nice drinks and food items. Loved that the whole cafe had a bunch of scratching posts and climbing areas for the cats. Great customer service too! We had such a wonderful time!
We're talking about cats here. Cats are independent creatures, and don't like loud noises. They often don't want to be touched, so no, this isn't the best place for a small child to run around trying to pet the cats. There were cats sleeping, one that was very active and interacting with us, and the rest were somewhere in the middle. One slept on the lap of a customer for at least 30 minutes.nnThe atmosphere is nice and relaxing. The food was good, and since it includes the cost of maintaining the cats it is reasonable.
Initially came here due to a 4.5 star rating but please be wary of what I noticed from my experience from this cafe that I think is worth 2:nn1. The cats are almost all asleep this makes sense because cats sleep a lot so I’m not upset at that since they looked happy or avoid you most of the time if you try to pet them. So the little cards regarding their personalities don’t really match. It doesn’t also help when they’re rules regarding what you can and cannot do which might not be good for kids that anticipate playing/petting with the cats.nn2. The bathrooms smell like ABSOLUTE FILTH. If you have children please don’t let them touch anything in the washrooms and have them wash their hands WELL.nI have many friends who own cats and I have cat sit before and never experienced this so when I was hit by a wall of cat piss and shit smell I was baffled because there wasn’t any visible urine/fecal matter other than one litter box that LOOKED empty had the litter without any cat feces in itnn3. The overall place was well lit and decorated but again, some areas/corners reeked of cat piss which leads me to believe that there’s lack of proper cleaning by the employees/owners. The odour and sanitation can be worked on considering this place serves full on dishes.nn4. I ordered a pistachio iced latte which had ALOT of ice in it in a rather small cup and a hot chocolate which was kind of overpriced for its lack of quality and small size. When I saw the menu I noticed the food seemed just alright but not too worth getting.nn5. The employees lack attentiveness. I had to get up from my seat to grab their attention at the front desk where two young ladies were sitting and chatting. I understand that it’s fine to rest and chat but not to the point where I had to get up. They’re definitely polite so I’m not upset at their attitude but I think if the washrooms reek or some areas of the cafe need attention, they should tend to their responsibilities.
The food is good, but a little pricey for what it is, however this can be explained by the fact that there is no entrance fee and they need to take care of the cats. The coffees have cute designs on them and the cats are quite friendly. The cats can climb all over the place and enjoy it when you play with them. Good spot for cat lovers.
The Happy Cat Café is such a lovely spot—super cozy and aesthetically pleasing, with a cute and peaceful atmosphere. They have a great variety of drinks and snacks, and I got to try their bestseller, the pistachio coffee I think that’s the name, and it was genuinely delicious. The décor is beautiful, everything looks really clean, and it’s clear that the cats are well taken care of and happy. They have plenty of places to rest and play, and there’s even a little gift shop with cat-themed items, which was a fun touch!nnOne thing I’d suggest is that staff could gently remind parents to help their kids respect the cats’ space. I noticed a few moments where kids were chasing the cats around, and while it’s great that families can enjoy the space, it would be even better if the environment stayed calm and safe for the animals.nnOverall, it’s a great café experience for both cat lovers and coffee lovers alike.nnFor usage of these photos/videos or content collaborations, contact @mindsetmused.
