Came in needing a large, painful cyst on my back drained. Doctor came in and took a look at it, identified it as a cyst, then left and I was discharged. They gave me a referral to a dermatologist to take care of it along with an amoxycillin script. I called the dermatologist several times over the next few days to see if they had my appointment ready yet. First they told me my insurance took care of it, then my insurance told me they don't take care of it, then the dermatologist said they most likely didn't ever get the referral. I tried to just book an appointment with them but they said they wouldn't without a referral. I called Kootenai Urgent Care again to see what was going on, but they said they had no access to my charts at the front desk. Fair enough, they said they'd get a nurse to pull my chart and call me and inform me what was going on with my referral. Never got the call. Got fed up and decided to go to Northwest Urgent Care off of US-95 instead. They immediately and professionally drained my cyst the same day, and seemed absolutely dumbfounded why Kootenai didn't do it for me. Modern medicine is already a bureaucratic nightmare of buck passing and liability scamming, I would expect that much going into a major operation or coming out the other side with billing, but for an obvious, easily fixable problem, a procedure that took all of ten minutes? It seems anybody with integrity was politically purged from corporate medicine years ago. Sick of being on the bottom end of a system that fails by intention. Never coming back here, neither should you, and for God's sake don't bring your children here. Who knows what they'd do to them!
Good experience from the moment I walked through door. Was acknowledged right away with an "We'll be right with you" to the courteous and kind representative doing intake on computer before visit, then called back by Sarah who with her warm smile and gentle/kind demeanor doing my prep for Doctor, then Dr Vadim Pustynovich just continue with his genuine concern for my issues, really listening to me. When your not feeling good its nice to be treated still with respect and kindness. Thank you so much!
Horrible. 1 hour wait, and they still had not taken ONE patient into the back. Hey have staff all over... but no doctors. I went to Heritage Health, cost me 10 bucks and they fixed the issue in loess time that just waiting at the Ironwood distaster. Urgent care is NOT URGENT.. take the name off your sign. You are a low end clinic with no doctors. You should not be in business.
Been here twice within a month and very upset. The nursing and office staff are awesome but the actual nurse practitioners/doctors are not the best. The first time I saw a lady who wouldn’t even listen to what I was telling her and had to repeat myself multiple times because when she was repeating things back to me she was saying things I didn’t say. Then went in for a twisted ankle and the guy I saw took almost 20min just to print out my paper to leave. Also heard him talking to his nurses when the door was left open and he was very rude and short with his nurses. Definitely going to stick to the Hayden/Post Falls locations
I arrived a little before 8. A little after 8, they opened the doors to announce the practitioners were late and therefore we couldn't be admitted into the waiting room. When asked how late the practitioners would be I was told "hopefully less than a half hour". I called their sister location in Hayden 10 min later & there practitioners were also late. It is a sad day when retail workers are held to higher standards than medical staff. Also, the entrance area looked dungy.
Went here for severe stomach pain a while ago. Dr. and the nurse were very rude and spent maybe 5 minutes asking questions. I could hear the staff outside the door accusing me of being a pill junkie. told me i had acid reflux and to take some antiacid tabs, nothing to worry about. Saw my PCP a few days later who ran some tests and turned out I had worms / parasites in my intestines. Kootenai Medical is a circus ran by and operated by clowns.
I have been to this urgent care twice now. Both times I felt like my concerns were heard, the doctor took time to discuss recommended treatment plans with me and followed through. The nurses and front office were kind.
As a medical Assistant in this community, I have never experienced such lack of empathy or compassion in this type of setting! I think I would take the time to drive to Spokane for the quality of care that is expected.
I got in line online and and I am sicker than a dog. I just want to lay down, I probably have the flu! Some chick with knee pain who got here 30mins AFTER me got called back! What’s the point of going online to get in line?! I’ve been waiting an hour now. I have a regular dr I go to but she’s 30 miles away and I’m too sick the make the drive. I’m just mad!
Long wait, but the care from Dr. Bowman once seen was great. Thorough, empathetic, attentive, and didn’t do unnecessary tests. Can he be my primary care? Why can’t all doctors do/be like this?! Home in bed now with the flu, but on the mend. Thank you for the excellent care Dr.
