Make sure you have a map. Don't rely on your electronic devices only. The road system is extensive and the casual tourist could get completely disoriented and hopelessly lost. The National Forest signage for the roads is marginal at best. There is very little if any cell service the deeper you go into the forest. Beautiful timbered regions. Many of the roads are not suitable for sedans. A 4- wheel drive truck is your best bet for exploring this area.
