BEST RAMEN SHOP! Extremely affordable and lots of options to customize your ramen bowl. Honestly the broth is the best part about it. Staff here is really friendly and nice. Been here a bunch of times with my friends and can say all their appetizers are delicious. Also they give you reheat instructions when you have to take some of it home with you. It tastes just as good reheated.
We decided to eat here while visiting Vancouver mostly because of the reviews. The food was good but we didn’t feel like it was amazing or some of the best ramen we’ve had. The rice balls were good and flavorful. The portions were good and the prices are reasonable. The staff was also friendly.
The noodles were thin and had a bit of bite. Broth was not too salty, which we preferred. It was the perfect ramen for me. In contrast, mini-don was more salty and sweet, but it was still tasty. The combo with mini-don was filling and satisfying. Double carb combo was a guilty pleasure. I got a bite of karaage, it was thinly battered and juicy. Service was very good. The restaurant was moderately busy, but the staff still provided frequent tea refills. Cleanliness can be improved. Table top was bit sticky. Otherwise I would've given 5 stars.
Tiny ramen place located 5 min away from Metrotown. The flavour of the miso and black ramen were good and can satisfy a ramen craving, however other ramen shops have better flavoured broths. The chasu don was dry and would be a pass. The agadashi tofu and Takoyaki ball were ok. They are very reasonably priced. Overall would come back if I was hungry and in the neighbourhood but would not be a destination spot.
First time trying out this ramen place. Ramen comparable to other places that we’ve been to. We have a family member who has a nut allergy and this is one of the ramen places where there menu broth does not have any nut ingredients. That is a deciding factor for us and will definitely come back. Friendly staff as well!
This is a ramen place that tends to get very busy with line ups out the door. With good reason - the broth here is OUTSTANDING! For my order I got the Black garlic oil with charred chasu. You also get to specify if you want a regular or rich broth. For my order I got rich. Even with the rich option, it wasn't too overpowering - there was no garlicky or salty aftertaste that you get from some places. It eas just right. The noodles had a good bounce or chewiness to them that all the top ramen places do well. I also tried the tonkatsu broth and I think I might've liked that even more! There was a more pronounced pork flavor in the broth but again, not overpowering or salty. I felt like I could drink the bowl like a soup and feel refreshed, the taste was that clean. I'll definitely get that for my order next time. I also got the add-on chicken karaage to my order. I thought the add-on was just a smaller version of the appetizer chicken karaage but the waitress said no, they were actually the same portion size, it's just that the add-on option makes it much cheaper. I think the same was true for the agedashi tofu as well. Good to know if you normally get a few appetizers with your ramen. On top of all that the service was super-friendly and helpful. Wait time note: there was 4 of us on a Sunday afternoon, close to 1pm, and we only had to wait about 10 mins or less. But the time we left there was a more of a lineup.
I've finally decided to try Kamamarui - one of the few sought-after ramen places in Vancouver. I visited the restaurant around 3pm, and about half of the tables was empty. Tables were clean, sanitized and the server was kind and prompt. I decided to get a Tonkotsu with rich broth and grilled chashu. I ordered 2 bombs Onigiri rice balls pretty much as a combo. The food came out in a few minutes and was told to try their ramen sauce and spicy sauce/chilli sauce to my likings. This restaurant also offers free garlic which goes well with rich broth. Kamamarui here offers a great, thick and rich broth which I really like. This place is really legit if you like such broth. My wife doesn't like rich broth as she prefers the clean/light and non-greasy broth. I'll try the normal broth next time to see if I can bring her next time. Although the two little onigiris I've ordered tasted okay, I wouldn't order them on my next visit as the portion was pretty small. I'll probably go for extra noodle or a bowl of rice instead. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and will definitely come back again to try their miso along with other variations.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere at night, with dim lighting. I ordered the Miso Chashu Ramen. It was decent, nothing really special. The condiments on the table were a good addition.Food: 3/5
Unfortunately, they took away the chicken don which was my favourite item in the restaurant. Their ramens are still hearty and delicious and it's a classic that I always come back to. The bombs are tasty too and work well in pairing with any ramen.
Found this place when i was walking back from Metrotown, and i do not regret it. Its a ramen restaurant with of course some appetizers and drinks, but the main reason you go here is for ramen. They have a lot of options for the ramen, and if you want you can add extra of whatever you would like. The portion is HUGE and very filling and it tastes delicious. The only con is that there is little soup and a load of noodles, other than that, this place is easily a 5-star.
