It wasn’t very busy when we visited. Weekday maybe? This was good because we found out they had tables that weren’t in direct sunlight. There’s a cool brick area in the corner. Food was fine. I had the original jinya black with the thick noodles. No issues. 4/5 mainly because i think they really need to get some shades / blinds for the other tables.
Able to grab a table quickly during lunch hour on a Saturday. Service was ok. Took us a few tries to get the server’s attention to take our orders. Pretty good ramen. Rich tonkotsu broth with perfectly cooked noodles both thin and thick noodles were good. One of the seasoned eggs was slightly overcooked. We enjoyed our meal but it was quite pricey.
!! M'iso-likey! This vegan ramen is dope for Jinya standards but not a cut above the rest, especially considering the extremely hiked prices compared to all other ramen joints. It was yummy, but albeit not the best. They do have a good menu with a solid few vegan options. A perfect balance of not too salt but totally yummy and flavorsome. At first, you think there isn’t sufficient broth, but then you realize its because their delicious and excellent grade noodles soak up all that yummy goodness and make a perfect soft but chewy texture to chow and slurp. The hot sauce and paste is also awesome, super tasty bold flavor and adds some nice spice to your bowl. Tofu would be preferred cooked slightly more to add a crispy texture as it evaporates in your bowl. The food was definetely the highlight, the decor is cool but music and atmosphere is kinda cactus-club-esque and quite a faddy chain, servers are very slow but lovely people. I also think it's really lame and shoddy to put Jinya Rewards promotions on the menu which doesn't exist.
First off the host was an amazing lady who absolutely lit up the room and was unlike any host I've ever experienced. The ramen was outstanding with rich broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The atmosphere resembles a lounge / bar and would be a great date spot. Our server Miyu spoke both japanese and English and was very attentive. Congratulations on the successful grand opening and we will be eating here again soon.
I tried Jinya’s chicken ramen 3 years ago. And now my family become Vegan so we come back for the vegan options. And I have to say it is much tastier than I expected. And the services are great! The only problem is the music was too loud. But we will come back again for the food.
I have been to the JINYA downtown on Robson and loved it. So I was excited for this new location to open close to my home but unfortunately the food qualify is very mediocre compared to the other locations. We ordered our usual which is the JINYA tonkotsu original. The broth was very disappointing and flavorless. The two pieces of meat were tiny. I'm pretty sure the portion size is smaller as well. We also ordered the brussel sprout tempura. Again, tasteless and lacking in flavor. It needed salt! My boyfriend added a side of gyoza and salad to his soup but we found a hair in the salad. The staff were super apologetic and comped it for us while giving us a complimentary bowl of edamame. The service here was the only thing we liked!
Ramen tasted good but suffered from a severe case of Shrinkflation. Ordered the Tonkotsu Black and there were three very tiny pieces of meat that was for the most part FAT. For comparison, the 4th picture is what you'll get at Kintaro for the same price of around $19. Venue felt hip and cool but I won't be able to bring the rest of my family there as Jinya's speakers were just blaring. I can't even hear our server when she was repeating our orders and the few times she came back to check on us. I guess they're more after the BAR vibe as opposed to the family sit down lunch/dinner vibe.
We have been waiting for this franchise restaurant for a year. We ordered takoyaki and gyoza for appetizers Recommended. The ramen tasted as good as the first location in downtown.Recommended dishesTakoyaki, Ramen
This was the first time my husband and I went to the Jinya located at the Amazing Brentwood. The atmosphere was very open with a lot of natural light. There are a few tables at this location, but find the layout at the Robson St location a lot more appealing and comfortable. We arrived around noonish, there was no line and chose to sit at the bar rather than a table in the middle of everyone and ordered 2 virgin margarita's can't remember the price for these, but do recall it being quite overpriced for a mocktail, an order of gyoza $9 and 2 Creamy Vegan Ramen $22 x2. My husband and I have been going to Jinya since the opening of the one downtown on Robson St, but through the years we have noticed that the quality isn't as good as it was and the price for our favorite ramen has doubled in price $12 when we first tried Jinya, but the quality hasn't reflected the price. We still enjoy Jinya, but this last visit for 2 people was $78 including taxes and a 15% tip. Aside from the food, the service was very friendly and the food arrived in a timely matter. The 3/5 stars is a reflection of the food and not the service. Parking: Free surface lot parking at Awesome Brentwood
!!! Severely overpriced. Barely any meat in the ramen and frankly the music is so loud I wanted to just eat without speaking to my party. The noodles were great and so was the broth BUT their spicy ramen is 21.50 WTH…?? and bless the server for recommending to get a spiciness 3/10 to reserve room for flavour because anything more would have been truly awful. This place delivers rapid inflation at your expense. 0 for value.
