Today I had their chicken pot pie and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was the perfect mixture of soft and crunchy. The pot pie was excellent just like the mac n cheese I tried there last week. If I'm working downtown and time is a factor they are my go to spot. They also have one of the best breakfast burritos in Alaska.

Really nice folks running this place. And funny. And music lovers. And the food is great!

I love an "unexpected" twist on commerce, some surprise curve-ball on my automaton-, zombie-role as a consumer: The theater-pub phenomenon is a brilliant recent example. I heard of a band in the Lower 48 whose first gig was in a laundromat-bar in Ohio. K-Street follows a similar trajectory, operating as a "convenience store" while boasting the best burrito in town and top-notch coffee drinks made with Homer's award-winning espresso roaster. Downtown Anchorage is littered with an embarrassing glut of shops selling generic, cliche and humorless t-shirts, hats, and cheap junk & trinkets all aimed at Tourists. K-Street, meanwhile, contains AK-themed treasures & practical items intended for travelers and adventurers: A wall of albums by AK's best songwriters/musicians, tasteful AK-themed wear, and last-minute gear and grub to fill out the weekend out-of-town camping trip. Located in one of the most *convenient* but unassuming locations in downtown, K Street warrants a visit whether you're the new arrival or first-time traveler to AK's biggest city, or you're looking to stock up on a few thoughtful, first-rate AK-themed gifts before catching your flight out of state and back home.

K Street has really good big fat burritos! They are also known for their awesome Ban-Apple Bread, the stuff is addicting! Very vegetarian friendly, they even have MorningStar veggie sausages on hand! The breakfast burritos are great, made with roasted red potatoes, eggs, pico de gallo, mixed bells, cheese and choice of protein. They have a rotating menu of soups daily, the Smoked Gouda Veggie Chowder is the bomb! They play great music, the staff is rad! HUGE selection of cold drinks and you can also order a ESPRESSO!!! Ride your bike down there, grab a bite and take it outside, there are tables out front and benches lining the street or have a picnic at the park down the hill and enjoy the weather and view of the inlet :)
