I have been to John's several times. They have wide variety of food choices for brunch. My sister and I love their pancakes with maple syrup cream cheese, the combination is really good. The servers are also friendly and welcoming. It could be because there are many people that come here for brunch especially during the weekend and there's usually a line up that we feel that the servers are in a hurry for you to pay for your food so you can go and let others Seat. My sister hasn't even finished her coffee when the server came with the card machine and asked us if we are ready to pay. If you want a more relax place or a space where you can chat more with your friends or love ones over brunch, maybe this is not the place for you. But if it is just brunch that you want to try, John's could provide that for you.
We have been here a few times now and it never disappoints! My husband and I had the vegan burrito and it was incredible! Whatever was in it was very tasty and kept us full all day. I can’t wait to have it again :- the portions are generous! The staff are all super friendly especially the long-term ones that have been there forever. The restaurant and facilities are always clean
You definitely gotta eat here! John Catucci is right about John’s Place Restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant I was in awe with all the pictures on the wall of celebrities and family of John. We knew this diner has a special history which I can tell why local patrons keep coming back. The menu is extensive; it was hard to decide what to order. We had: The Belgian Waffle - as seen on “You Gotta Eat Here!” The “Odd Couple” The Classic Eggs Benny 1984 - as seen on “You Gotta Eat Here!” added cornbread Omelette special for the day Generous portion and the flavours are outstanding. We were so full we needed to walk it out. The staff was so attentive and great. We will definitely come back again to try out other dishes. You gotta eat here again and again.
What a treasure! My husband and I had brunch here while visiting Victoria. A bit of a wait, but definitely worth it. My husband had the Catch-22, half a traditional eggs Benedict and a Belgian waffle. The cream cheese syrup is to die for I'm a comfort food lover, so the meatloaf/mashed potatoes/gravy were right up my alley. Absolutely delicious, the meatloaf was so tender and the gravy so flavorful Our charming server lovely older lady insisted we try the homemade pie Unbelievable! Lucky Victoria is a walkable city, we were stuffed Highly recommend! A definite hidden gem
It was my first time John’s and also Victoria too. All of my friend recommend this place for brunch. So i went there around 11:30 with my gf. There were several teams waiting. I put the name in the list and wait 20minit was worth to do. I saw the food which people ate while i was being served the table and it looks very delicious. I ordered classic benny and it was legit!! Also staffs are very friendly and very kind!! They made my day!!
Had a pleasant breakfast here. The service is excellent; always quick to top up coffee and check-in unobtrusively. I always walked by as a kid growing up and haven't been here in over a decade but it was wonderful be able to come back and enjoy everything that makes this place historical. From the fresh delicious food, great staff, to the one of a kind decor, this is a local legend of a restaurant.
This restaurant has really nice retro decor. Service is great but the food was mediocre. The waffles tastes like those DIY waffles at a hotel breakfast and the burgers were bland. The espresso milkshake was delicious though!
Don’t need to sleep on this, Baby baby. Their Meatloaf ‘N’ Eggs are Bat Out Of Hell delicious. I was debating whether I wanted meatloaf for breakfast. Sooo glad I did. It was so good. “The Odd Couple” was also very good. A different version of Chicken Waffle with cream cheese syrup. Waitress was super friendly and kept our coffee cup full. Will definitely be back. ** Word of advise. Arrive early. Like “right when they open” early. Or be prepare to stand in a lineup outside.
Wow!!! what a service. I saw a video in youtube that this place is a must, well time to try. And to be honest the service was amazing, Norman was very helpful and very kind. And the food was very tasty and yummy and worth i, for many this is a good breakfast, but for me was a perfect lunch. So i highly recommend to give a try here, you won't regret it.
Amazing place with great food. This restaurant is filled with so much history. A lot of famous personalities have been to this restaurant. Enjoyed my breakfast while soaking in all the history
