James Bay Fish & Chips

I like the crispy ginger beef here. It’s owner operated and the food is good. The only negative reviews are for fish and chips — don’t get them! Order the Chinese food. They have in-house delivery and sometimes I get my food in as little as 20 minutes.

Been going here for 7 years and they have had some ups and downs. It's still always delicious and ever since the daughter took over its even better! Ordered delivery tonight and everyone loved it! Deff recommended Chinese food only Kid-friendliness: The older woman owner has loved our child since she was born and always offers her a free drink. Lovely people here!

The price goes up and the portions go down. I can accept that costs have risen, but as the prices skyrocket, the portions keep shrinking. The combos now are not even filling the container and the meat portions are are almost non-existent. I had a combo A that had only eight pieces of pork, which used to be the appropriate 1/3 of the order, and there was hardly any chicken in the chop suey and rice. Very poor value now.

Good tasting food at a fair price. Highly recommend the calamari. The white fish was also delicious. The soup was not to my taste but my friends enjoyed it. The best part is the service- so friendly and accommodating. Also the green beans in black bean sauce are to die for. Thank you! Happy new year!

Delicious food! I've only ever tried the Chinese as I'm not big into Fish & Chips. The staff are very kind, polite & their prices are unbelievable. Combo A for 1 person is my go-to! :

Extremely dirty and the food was barely edible. It was freezing inside the restaurant. They made a mistake on the bill in their favour , which I didn't realize until I got home. Never again. So so dirty.

Ordered fish Cod and salmon and chips. While the fish was fine, the chips were disgusting. It was obvious that they had supplied old chips. It’s almost like they reused them from another meal.

Just had fish and chips takeout today. Fish was somewhat uncooked and cold, batter still gooey on the inside. Even though I arrived early to make sure I got a fresh dinner, it was already waiting when I arrived, for how long I don't know. I won't be returning.

Atrocious fish and chips. The actual worst I've ever had, and I'm from the prairies. Ordered halibut and got rubbery, doughy haddock. Haddock can be good, this was not. Fries were stale and reheated. I hear the Chinese can be good, but I won't be trying it. You've no business calling yourself a fish and chips restaurant.

As a first time customer who just moved to the area, I was expecting atleast a decent quality since the name itself is james bay fish and chips. However, the fish was soggy and felt like it was dipped in pancake batter. It was a laughing stock. I hope the owner notices this or else we won't be ordering again.
