Exceptional Indian cuisine with an amazing variety of choice. For me, the closest that Indian food in Ottawa has come to what I grew up enjoying in India. The weekly specials at Ishina, Rajasthani food, Kashmiri food, Punjabi Thali, Dosa special, the Naanza, the Indian style Tacos, the Makhni Paneer rice bowl, have been over staple during Covid-19 and we could not be happier considering the amazing quality, their commitment to health protocols and their awesome customer service. If you are looking to shatter your Covid blues with some out of the world Indian food, I would highly recommend them.
Food was decent, but not the best Indian food. Pricey for the amount of food we received and we pre-ordered an hour and a half befor but still ended up waiting 30 minutes anyway because they didn't see our order come in. The lamb and Chana Masala were tasty and the naan was fluffy and fresh, but the butter chicken was too sweet and didn't have much meat in it. A little disappointing when you pay atleast $20 per plate.
Effort+Excellence=Ishina Gina of Ishina puts in 150%to create Excellent unique dishes. I ordered the Diwali Special, the food tasted delicious. The food reminded me like I was eating food from high end restaurant in Mumbai such as Khyber at Worli or The Taj in Colaba. What I also like about Gina is that she will experiment with new dishes and once she feels it is ready only then will they roll it out. In the past few months I have enjoyed their Kathi Roll, Fish Tacos, Dal Bhati, Biryani & many more. I would highly recommend Ishina...
We picked up their father's day dinner for two, and it both looks and tastes amazing! Also there was a little father's day surprise gift in the bag. Nippi was gracious as always. Great to see they are still here with us.
We got their Saturday special today Hakka Cuisine. It had fried rice, noodles, Manchurian and also a veggie stir fry. Everything was so yummy. Attached with it was cute thank you card with an offer of free desert on next week's order. All the food was fresh and delicious with great portions. We will definitely order next time. Thank you very much for your wonderful service.
Ishina might be a bit of a hidden treasure but the food is just too good - have to share. We had takeout last weekend and it was spectacular. The vegetarian dinner for three would probably have fed 5 generously. The lentil dish and the cauliflower a whole delicious cauliflower! were favourites but everything was truly special- even the rice was way beyond plain rice. I’n still thinking about all the flavours. We’ve enjoyed the buffet lunches at Ishina for years and I was so happy when I realized their food is available to take home, all beautifully packaged and organized and as delicious as ever. Thank you for the wonderful meals.
We went there after reading reviews. Tried mixed veg, Makhani Paneer, Dal makhni and Chpatis. 1 Mixed veg: Frozen cut vegetables bought from Walmart. Boiled and added salt/garam masala only. Bakwas taste. 2 Makhani Paneer: 5-6 small size pieces in sour gravy. No taste. 3 Daal Makhani: no where it is clos to Indian daal makhani. 4 Chapati's waere eatable only. We read reviews and went there with lots of expectations. I think all 4/5 star reviews are paid or fake. Found tasteless food and my family did not like the taste. Owner should not cheat Indians like this. Not recommended to anyone. Please cook food at home, or go to any other restaurant in town.
Went there for lunch today with colleagues from work. Good food, and excellent service. The waitress was very helpful, even took photos of the group from several different angles, while continuing to serve other customers. The cost of the lunch-time all-you-can eat was quite low, considering the quality of the food. I'm going to investigate their take-out dishes. Looked quite promising.
My daughter and I ordered the Diwali non-vegetarian feast for two. Every dish was delicious and so well prepared. There was so much food we were able to get two fabulous dinners and a substantial lunch out of it. From appetizer to dessert, each dish was made with love. There was even a Diwali gift of light tea lights, sweets chocolates and coasters for our mango lassi. Although we miss the lunch time buffet, Ishina has really come through with their take out. A two thumbs up recommendation from us.
We have been clients at Ishina for MANY years. I have never had anything less than an amazing meal. Great flavour and delicious. Best paneer jalfrezi ever. And when you can combine great food with friendly and helpful service you get a great place to get supper when you don’t feel like cooking. Try them.....they are amazing
