I ordered mutton korma. I was surprised to see that they have used the smallest container I have ever seen an Indian restaurant use to pack a curry. Even that small container they didn't want to fill with sufficient food. I compared with the other take out containers from other restaurants in my pantry to be sure. There weren't enough mutton pieces in it for one person also. They cut the mutton into extremely small pieces to trick the customer into thinking they've been given more pieces. It's heartbreaking and pathetic to see an Indian restaurant doing this to it's customers. The dish was unusually cold when it arrived. I reheated it in the microwave. Once heated, the curry tasted alright. Don't bother wasting money here. There are many Indian restaurants popping up in and around Ottawa. Spend your money where the business does the bare minimum of providing sufficient food to its customers for the price they pay.
Ordered takeout dinner a week ago. It’s been a while since we got takeout from Malabar and I would say the taste and quantity are not as how it used to be. The milk appam did not taste like it had the milk and the Chicken 65 was small for the price. Hoping to see these guys get back to their initial quality and quantity.
I spent 160+ $. Very bad food. I have added the pics here. Parotta looks like naan and tastes like something I have never eaten. Egg puffs looks like a road roller went over it. Vada taste like dosa batter. Chilli Gobi looks like gobi dipped in tomato sauce and oil. I don’t think their is a chef at all. Some one might be cooking randomly. We wasted all the money and food. Sorry for the harsh comments, but it is 100% true and I feel cheated. The people who made it definitely knew this was bad especially looking at that parotta. Still they decided to cheat. Don’t know why you would put food you don’t know to make in the menu. Thanks for spoiling our day. Except for an avg chicken curry, we literally had to throw everything else in garbage and make food at late night
I ordered masala dosa and egg fried rice!! Seriously not edible and I regret spending here. There is no egg pieces in egg fried rice. But charging for egg fried rice isn't really fair!! I do not recommend this restaurant. Pictures of the food got fooled me as the taste of was Horrible. Previously bad reviews made me think should I order here. But its true I must not have ordered here. On top of all this, the packaging of egg fried was TERRIBLE! THIS RESTAURANT HAS TO SHOW SOME RESPECT TO THE CUSTOMERS AND THE WAY THEY PACK FOOD. I GIVE 0 STARS.
Ordered take out- Chilli Gobhi Chicken 65 Nan Butter chicken Chicken biryani Samosas. Got 3 peices of gobhi and 4 peices of chicken in whole plate. See the pics. Nan were the fozen ones. Samosa were good and butter chicken was just OK. Very disappointing. I would have gone back to talk to them but they were already closed for the day and next morning we headed back to Toronto. Guys.... There are many Indian restaurants around this place. You for sure, want to avoid this one.
This restaurant came highly suggested by my friend for their egg puffs. Called them in advance and reserved some since they sell out pretty quick. After an hour of shovelling snow and driving long distance this piece of activated charcoal is what we got. Was inedible, believe me we tried all 4 pieces and I imagine this is how exhaust fumes would taste like. Probably cooked over dirty or burnt baking sheet. Since there were bits stuck to the puff that were as hard and black like charcoal.
If there was anything below I would have given it. Food was pathetic no taste bad service no hygiene. The idli was raw in the middle with a foul smell and taste. Coconut chutney was slyme. This place had serious health hazards.
Great food! Tastes freshly made and was very quick! I went for the beef curry with rice. It is a delightfully braised beef in a rich sauce. Nice and tender and the sauce is great. I wish I had a bit more time to wait for the egg puffs, the pictures of those look incredible. They said it was a 40 minute wait, which to me, seems like they cook them to order. Glad i didnt let first impressions steer me away, very impressed with the place!
I have ordered Appam with Chicken roast combo along with Dosa and sambar combo.. The chicken roast was good. But both dosa and Appam were over fermented. And Dosas were over cooked so that I had to throw the whole food. worst experience.
Customers are like kings and queens. This means that the restaurant cannot survive without customers. Customers are like house guests. We welcome our guests with a smile and happiness. We cook for our guests with love and positive energy. Unfortunately, I see the opposite of the above in these people. They are angry, rude and unwelcoming. Therefore, I strongly do not recommend this restaurant. Don't waste your time and money here. Where the food is cooked with negative energy.
