Ordered Goat & Chicken Korma. The two Korma's had too much oil was very sweet like dessert. The meat had lots of fat wasn't trimmed properly was lacking traditional india spice flavor. Chicken Korma should not be sweet at all. Both Korma's need hot chili spice and not sugar. Wasn't impressed at all very disappointed.
We had lunch at this place and were met with really kind customer service. While the prices could have been better, the taste helped forget about the tag for awhile. However, I did appreciate the free refill on the thali. I would definitely come back at least once and I’d certainly recommend.
We went there today for a buffet. I would definitely say this place is worth going, in terms of Main course being a non vegetarian I tried there goat curry, chicken tikka masla, Butter chicken and Chicken biryani, everything was amazing. It’s purely value for money. We were served by Mohit and Manpreet both were amazing. And it was my wife’s birthday so they even helped us with the celebration by providing plates and turning on the music. Great staff. Highly recommend this place.
Best buffet place so far. Their goat curry steals the show. is very authentic and reminded me of home. Very well cooked. Their starters were served on the table and the staff was very friendly. Hope they maintain the quality and taste with the increasing prices. $19 for buffet is still unbelievable.
I came here in February 2021. I got two vegetarian curries and rice for $15 or so. It was way too salty but overall, not too bad. You get what you pay for. I went back today with my boyfriend because I was in the area and was surprised to be handed a different menu from last time that was much more expensive. I asked if they changed their menu because I didn't see the combo I got last time. They told me that was takeout only. They brought me the white takeout menu and I was like oh yeah, this is what I ordered from before, and they let me eat inside. Today they said "we can't do that." So I said thanks anyway and we left. I don't understand their reasoning. My boyfriend and I both would have got the combo for $15.99 plus tax plus tip so they could have gotten $40 to $50 revenue. Instead, they got nothing. The restaurant was empty, it's not like we were taking up expensive dinner seats or something. It was very strange. On top of that, no one greeted us when we came in, even though someone was standing there chatting at the back of the room and saw us. It took a few minutes for her to even come over and give us water. I remember the service being kind of rude last time but this time was worse. Even just asking a question about the menu made me feel like I was causing a burden on their day. Moral of the story, save your hard-earned money by avoiding this place If you are looking for quality Indian food, go to Roast N Curries on Bank St. The food is absolutely amazing, and the service is so nice. Noticing how the owners respond to other customer complaints, I'm not expecting anything to change. But to those seeking Indian food at Kanata Centrum, consider yourself warned. P.S. if you want to make more money, Amaya, treat customers with respect. On the plus side, your restaurant would be a great candidate for Kitchen Nightmares.
Our first time here. We visited the buffet bar. There was a good selection of food items. Both the madras chicken and the butter chicken were my favorites and were delicious with lots of flavour. The Naan bread was wonderful. We will return.Food: 4/5
Had a lovely meal at Amaya Buffet last night. The Buffet is extensive and includes juice, tea and dessert. There are a a good number of vegetarian and meat dishes, as well as salad, soups and appetizers. All were very well prepared and very tasty. Service was warm, friendly and attentive. Vegetarian options: All of the buffet items had ingredients labelled and were identified as vegetarian or vegan if applicable. There were at least 4-5 vegetarian curries, soups, salad, naan and appetizers which were vegetarian. Kid-friendliness: The staff were very friendly to children and the buffet offered lots of choices that were not too spicy. Parking: There is free parking in front of the restaurant or the latge lot adjacent to it. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is all on one floor. There are some small transoms but easily navigated with a wheel chair or walker.
Amazing food and more than amazing staff!!! We had the buffet that opened after a long time and loved the aloo palak, kheer rice pudding, the naans, dal makhani, the biryani and what not..the pickled onions and raita are to die for!! Can't wait to go back !! Thank you Amaya and keep up the great work!!
I love buffets wherein they ensure that each dish is prepared in the best way possible. There’s such wide variety to choose from . The food was piping hot and packed with flavours through out which made it just perfect ! Will surely be back for their butter chicken and Chettinad style curries .
I used to come here often. However due to my most recent experience i would not be returning or recommending anyone to come here. Went in for 6:45 pm and the staff was not happy to see us at all we were the only guests when we walked in. The staff didn’t greet us and we just picked a table for ourself on our own. They finally decided to show up to our table to see what we were going to order. We placed the order and waiting for food and then the staff comes back and tells us the “chef” can’t make this because they are going to close. As per hours on google, they close at 8:30 PM. Maybe change your hours if you cant accomodate what guests want 2 hours before your apparent closing time. They only gave us an option of either of the two dishes that chef could make. We compromised because we liked the food here. And then yet again staff comes back and informs that their chef can’t make the particular stuffed naan we ordered. Funny enough that chef was just walking casually around the restaurant while this was happened. At this point i lost my patience and asked them to cancel my order as we would much rather go someplace else where guests are treated good and are respected.
