An Indian place right in the heart of Ottawa city opened up by an amazing and kind hearted person Gaurav and managed by Jaikishan JK. They both run the place like serving people at their own home. Hospitality of this place is noteworthy. Now let’s come to food - the taste will take you right back to India. It’s yummy and delicious. The quantity of 1 plate is appropriate for 2 people. Must try!!!!
Me and my friend were looking around for some Indian restaurants and from reviews and pictures, this place looked great. For starters, we had tandoori chicken, which was very delicious! The butter chicken was alright but, it was too tangy and sweet for us. The staff was excellent and friendly, and even gave us complimentary dessert. Coming again to try their goat curry!
The food is great but the portion size is really small. I got the butter chicken and it came with only 4 tiny pieces of chicken and the rest was just butter chicken sauce. They took constructive criticism and apologized which I appreciated. The dish tasted great but definitely was not worth 20$. Hopefully they give a better portion size and also reduce the price of the naan. It’s really overpriced for what you’re getting. Presentation of the food looks good. Service was slow, but I kind of expected it.
Staff was great. FYI posted dinner "main course" prices do not include rice or any sides, not really a meal at all and there was not a lot of chicken in the butter chicken. There is also only seating for parties up to 4. For our group, it ended up being quite expensive and we did not get that much. Butter chicken + garlic naan + chai is 30$ pre-tax and pre-tip Food ranged from okay to good not the best Indian I've had in Nepean. Presentation was great. Overall, a bit disappointing for our first try. The rating is really four because the staff were so nice but I probably would not recommend this restaurant.
Had to edit my review about the customer service. My husband and I went for lunch exactly when the place opens, and I was told to choose wherever I wanna sit. Then one of the employees comes and asks us to move, despite the fact that restaurant was empty. I requested to sit on a bigger table, as the table for two people is too small for all the food. I also offered to move to a smaller table if families were to come, but he didn't agree and forced us to move, telling that I don't want other people waiting while there were absolutely no people other than us there. The restaurant was still empty when we left, but very surprised by this kind of behaviour towards customers. Successfully ruined our anniversary lunch. Elated to finally find a place that serve authentic Indian food! Loved everything that we ordered. Masala papad, shikanjis, cheese corn balls, cheese butter masala, cheese naan are the dishes that stand out! Great ambience.
One of the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa. I visited this restaurant frequently and always enjoyed it. They served fresh food and offers great customer service. They do have lunch and dinner meals for vegetarian and with chicken. Vegetarian options: You can order veg meal or either curries according to your preference. Meal is more than enough for one person. Parking: Plaza parking is available.
The food was amazing. The only problem I had with food was, we found hair within the food. Store Rep said sorry twice, but the fact that it is a huge deal, we can’t avoid when it comes to hygiene. That’s why I am writing it here, so that they will take it more seriously. Otherwise it was good experience, friendly staff, and tasty food.
Had the worst experience ever. Being a vegetarian I asked them for paneer Tikka and they served me with chicken Tikka. Chicken pieces been cut similarly to paneer I did ate one piece of chicken by mistake in my whole life. Really really worst experience. They did replace with paneer Tikka. But please make sure this never happens again. I'm leaving this thing at this point.
Great food. Delicious garlic Naan, it was thin and soft at the same time, it's rare to find such amazing Naan. The veg manchurian was exactly what I was looking for Indo Chinese taste. Chicken Tikka also good, chicken was soft and well cooked with delicious gravy. Staff was kind and helpful. Should give it a tryFood: 5/5
I was literally able to differentiate between curry and water. We ordered Mom made chicken curry with bone-in chicken. I could literally taste the water, salt , spices seperately. I thought Daal-Roti is a renowned brand of restaurant since I had tasted it in Missisauga but this one was really bad experience. And it wasn’t even that crowded on the afternoon still had the bad experience. Mood spoilt.
