Took 3 grandsons there for picnic and exploration. Great time was had by all. Island is well maintained yet still mostly natural. Primitive campsite with tables and a latrine. No fires allowed so be sure to being water and a propane stove if you stay there.

One of many places only accessible by boat! This is the only good thing about paying taxes. .... let's hope that jackass Donald "scumbag" Trump doesn't try to shrink any parks in Washington. He'll get a slap back in the mouth that he doesn't expect. We love our parks keep them safe clean and open. PS discover pass sucks!!

Only accessible by watercraft. We kayaked and camped. There are only a limited number of camp sites, no way to reserve, and it can be busy. We almost didnt get to camp. No open fires. Absolutely beautiful and wonderfully secluded park.

The confusion or strange humor in some other reviews notwithstanding, this is an undeveloped, wild, old-growth forested island in what we call the "South Sound" region. It's wonderful, because it has remained wild. Not even a dock. Open year-round, and adjacent to the tribal property Squaxin Island, it is somewhat sheltered from most heavy waves (by local standards). It's a great overnight stop for marine trail type kayakers, and has a few mooring anchor/buoys near it for recreational vessels not suitable to beach. Nice short trails. Typical Puget Sound gravelly "barnacle beaches". There can be surprisingly strong currents in the area with certain tidal action and winds, but not exactly rips.
