Staff is greatly friendly, human, understand and approachable. The hotel is quite outdated. If i think of the brand Hilton, i think about fancy... which is far from this hotel. The only good thing is the staff, the buffet breakfast, the city and the view.. but don't expect a 5 star room. :)

Nice location uptown. walking distance to many pubs. nice waterfront view. I personally found the bed very soft. I didn't care very much for the pool since the only way to enter it was by ladders. since most all other hotels it's stairs. there was also no hot tub. they do have a nice large lobby with lots of seating area.

I went to Cranberry Lane (Christmas buffet).. actually I went 3 times this week 'cause it's that amazing. Also one more planned next week. The customer service experience is outstanding.. the food is great.. the atmosphere really puts you into the Christmas spirit.

I stayed at the Hilton Saint John NB a few times , my last stay was April 3 2018 and must say the experience wasn't a good one.
Poor customer service It was like they didn't want me to stay there.
I was given a high rate and was told it was the last room.  Then I phoned and reserved instead and they dropped the cost.
The room they gave me had no upper sheet and all the rooms I stayed in were dusty and not cleaned well. 
I wouldn't t recommend this hotel.  
It was funny because there were 2 men before me getting the royal trestment, given extra water and treated very well.                      
 $18.00 for parking overnight

The hotel staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Prices are comparatively reasonable, but so is the competition, which may in part account for the limited hotel amenities - added small touches can make a notable difference. Change the lobby water container and plastic glasses, as well as the ingredients. Put some disposable slippers and an bathrobe in each room. 

Ultimately though it’s the essential items that are key for both business and pleasure travelers. The breakfast is healthy and hearty. Fitness centre and pool are beneficial; if not, there are some excellent sports facilities nearby. A well-designed games room on the lower level would increase opportunities for social interaction.

The downtown core is going through a belated period of renewal, which dovetails nicely with established businesses that are locally unique. Some of the architecture rivals that of Perth, Australia, and is more interesting that Victoria, BC. A late-night yet safe walkabout in attractively litten streets is an excellent way to get some exercise and fresh air. 

The recent revival is most likely in response to a developing cruise ship industry. That noted; I would suggest that more needs to be done in the way of ’logistics’ - facilitating the draw of those tourists to local businesses in both high and low seasons (e.g. Year-Long on-site waterfront amenities - in the last coffee shop, fast food, free parking, etc.). The hotels are not yet benefiting from those tourists as they should.
