First - THE STAFF WERE FABULOUS!! My 1st room had absolutely zero visibility or view due to windows being 100% covered in dirt and condensation on the outside I paid extra for a view and the room had a strong very musty smell. They offered a free breakfast but I said no. The second room was better, although maintenance had to repair a broken toilet. The wallpaper was peeling off some of the walls and the vinyl coating on the headboard was peeling off. No laundry on hotel site despite website stating so - laundry could be sent out in the morning at $ per pound plus $20 delivery for return later that night that is pretty expensive for one load of laundry!. Hotel charged a $75 security deposit PER NIGHT $450 in my case. The guide button on the TV did not work. I called desk for help to use the remote and was advised they didn’t have a TV package for guide use. I asked about the Pay Per View and Movies on Demand as advertised on the website - I was told they didn’t have that either. Parking was $25 per nite but it was not at the hotel. I booked this hotel for specific amenities due to a month long travel in the Maritimes. Very disappointed!! I would not recommend this hotel!
The location was great. The staff was very nice, but the rooms are a disappointment. The room had a musty kind of sewer smell and desperately needed maintenance. The vinyl headboard had a huge part of the material missing, the bathroom had lots of little dark spots where the grout should have been and on the wallpaper around the vents. We asked at the desk when we left for dinner, if they had air freshener and they said they would send someone up to the room. We have no idea if they did. It had the same odor when we came back in for the night. We travel frequently and have been disappointed in the last few Hilton and Hampton properties we stayed at. The managers need to look at the rooms they are renting out and have repairs made. We are at a Marriott tonight and plan on doing so for the rest of our trip. Hotel rooms are not inexpensive, so you expect a reasonable standard of maintenance and cleanliness.
Very nice staff. Room was clean but dated. No hand soap in the bathroom. The location is perfect for going to the market and restaurants. Pool was nice but no stairs to get in. Not the best area for young children. Didn't try the food, dinner menu is quite limited. Overall I would stay at a different property the next time I visit that area. The major issue was the view. The glass is old and moisture builds up on the windows so I could only see out thru the smaller side window.
Amazing customer service. I guess my only negative feedback is that the rooms are getting dated. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The views were great if you choose harbour view.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton in Saint John, and I must say, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A special shoutout to Ms. Ester at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and enjoyable. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well appointed with everything we needed for a relaxing and productive stay. The location is perfect conveniently close to restaurants, shops, and beautiful waterfront views. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hilton Saint John to anyone visiting the area!
