Herrick Lake Forest Preserve

I love this place!! It's just so serene!! It's also Always clean!&even has heated bathrooms that are also very clean& well kempt!! It has bike trails& is perfect for the entire family,young& older! Plus picnic tables& small sheltered areas& fishing😊

Unique place to relax or have time with friends and family. Variety of entertainment with paddle boats, kayaking, and trails in a nice quiet setting. Reasonable price for activities and hiking is free. Plenty of parking on site

Herrick Lake has miles of beautiful running/biking/walking trails. It's one of my favorite places to run because of the scenery. There are a lot of nice picnic grounds around the lake. Sometimes I see people fishing or paddling their canoes or kayaks. It's a relaxing place.

This clean park is just the right size to bring your family for a picnic, boating, fishing, or exercise. There are open air pavilions which can be reserved for events. Only park provided rental boats - including kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats - are allowed. From fishing to skating, there is fun all year round.

For so late in the season, there was still a lot of weeds along the shoreline. I can only imagine what fishing is like during the Summer months. I caught a 9" largemouth and not much else. Still the trees that line the entire area helped with the sun and wind.
