Happy Sparrow Cafe

Kolaches are so yummy. All sorts of savoury and sweet. Warm, freshly made taste. Lovely atmosphere from the ample daylight, to the comfy sofa, to the little touches in the decor. Really good coffee. Surely a jewel in the social crown of the local area. Fancy a coffee, or nibble of something different, or even just popping out, this has got to be the place. I love it. As a visitor this is what you have that it's so special.

The owner is phenomenal. I love the uniqueness and taste that he has brought to the portland metro area. The overall vibe is outstanding and I couldn't recommend this place enough! I will be back

Love this place. Kind and quick service. Cozy atmosphere, great-tasting kolaches. Owner and employees are interested in and remember their customers.

Happy sparrow serves up Kolaches, a delicious sweet, yeasty pastry with tasty breakfast fillings. My favorite is the Happy Bird Bun, with eggs and turkey sausage, but all of them are excellent. You’ve got to check them out, they will make your day.

As a native Texan, I was practically raised on kolaches, and despite having eaten countless kolaches between Austin and Dallas (including the famous Czech Stop in West, TX), the kolaches made by the Texan-owned Happy Sparrow Cafe are my favorites. The “Texas Hot Link” and “Bacon Me Happy” are my wife’s and my favorite savory kolaches. They are truly delicious! On the sweet side, the “Nutella Bun” is to die for.
