Story

Hair Republic Beauty Lounge (HRBL) is an eco-chic boutique hair salon and spa in the heart of Old Ottawa South. HRBL offers full salon / spa services focusing on innovative techniques and luxurious eco-friendly product lines.

HRBL selects its product lines based on the health of their clients and staff, performance and environmental / social sustainability.
We currently use and carry Schwarzkopf, Kevin Murphy, and Alterna conditioning and styling products. HRBL also carries Essensity, an organic ammonia-free color line.

I had my hair and makeup done for my city hall wedding here right before Christmas.  Hair was perfect and make up was spectacular!  I believe Emily was my make up artist.  I was nervous about them having the right product for my skin tone (darker).  She worked with 2 other people to blend something that was right for me.  She took her time and made sure it was perfect for my special day.  I couldn't be happier and plan to be a regular customer!  Thank you so much!

I. Love. These. People.     Period.

If I lived in Ottawa, Jeanne would be my regular stylist. She fixed a booboo haircut with a perfect one. Perfect I say!

The reception is fabulous as well. I explained my situation about needing a help haircut, and they steered me in the exact right direction...Jeanne.

I couldn't have been happier if I had tried.

I went in to get my hair highlighted. I have been getting highlights consistently for years now. I wanted to go a shade or two blonder than what I had and ended up leaving with hair that was darker than what I went in with. That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me since it was bleached. The stylist then told me that it's unlikely my hair will get lighter for a long time... which was ridiculous since it was literally two shades lighter two hours prior. She also didn't put the bleach at my roots so it looks like my hair has been growing out for a month. It's not an ugly colour it's just not what I wanted at all.

Loved my experience here! Stephanie was so sweet and caring and made the colour turn out perfectly. Very reasonable price as well! Would love to come back again and highly recommend :)

Daylen did a fantastic job highlighting my dark hair. I had never been to Hair Republic before but tried it based on a positive review from a friend and it did not disappoint. From the beginning Daylen totally understood what I wanted and exceeded my expectations! I have definitely found the stylist I will be going to from now on in Ottawa.
