I have lived at 66 Pacific Ave. for 7 months now and never had any issues. I did not wait long for an appt. To view as I booked using online calendar and my agent David was very helpful in obtaining a lease for me and took care of everything. The apartment was clean and freshly painted upon moving in. Any maintenance issues were dealt with swiftlywithin 24hrs. My apartment is large and reasonably priced and the area is great. I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews but i can only speak to my building. I am quite happy. The only negative is that there is no mailroom and couriers leave packages in the lobby and I have had packages go missing. Updated review- my initial experience was quite positive but since then I have had interactions with the leasing officenot my original leasing agent as he is no longer at this location regarding stolen packageswhich they could care less about and being assigned a parking spot-14 months later telling me it was assigned in error and move or get ticketed. To say the lack of customer service skill by the leasing office is an understatement. Not once did they offer an apology for their error and my Inconvenience, just rudely told to move. I was warned by many who live in the buildings ‘to just wait until you have an issue and have to deal with the women in the leasing office’ now I understand the negative reviews. - currently without hot water as well which is unacceptable considering the recent LARGE rent increase to all new vacant units- ridiculous.
At the beginning I had some issues about the service - no one replied me back, I tried to book appointments by phone and e-mail to see the available units and it took some days to have an answer. But then I met the leasing manager Sydney Spicer and she turned the whole situation to a great experience until I could finally moved in. She helped me with all the documents, were so kind on showing us the units and always reply promptly my e-mails. The apartment has a great space, everything seems to be brand new in my unit and the services I've used so far are working well. The neighborhood is peaceful and having High Park as your front yard is being outstanding!
I moved into this building on June first. first of all, I don't know why there are some negative comments here because I had a great experience finding a unit here. the Leasing team are a very nice and supportive . My advisor who helped me find the unit Miriam Baasit was very nice and polite Pearson, she answered all my emails and requests very quickly and made renting the unit much easier for me. and about the building, it's very lovely and clean. the only issue that I found is the windows are not 2 layers but the rest is great.
I have had the opposite experience from most reviewers below. 1. Location is great. 2. The building has been very responsive with any requests i had. 3. Elevators and fire alarms have been a slight inconvenience at times, but keep in mind that they were renovating the entire property at the time, so you need to exercise some patience. The delay in renovations is not the buildings fault either, Covid delayed a lot of it, but they did their best to manage and prioritize the work that needed to be done. 4. There have been a small number of security issues. I have lived in more expensive buildings/lofts in the core and they had the same number of issues as well. Unfortunately, I guess it's part of living in the city sometimes. My biggest compliant is more with the people in the building. Lots of complainers. The building is renovating to make it nicer for us, but some people still treat the building poorly. For example, one resident kicks the handicap button and elevator buttons. Really? Just use your hands, then wash them... Don't get me wrong there are lots of good people living here as well. This places losses one star because my apartment did get cold in the winter. This is not entirely GWL's fault though. They bought it from another property manager Vertica, who did the installation.
Dealing with the leasing office is terrible. They take forever to respond and once they do the units listed on the website are “no longer available”. They promise incentives but then take them away stating it’s a misunderstanding? Very unprofessional way to treat current tenants who have been here for years and are just trying to upgrade. Otherwise it’s a nice building and clean. Great amenities now but I have a suspicion prices are going to increase. Building management never responds either. Friendly building and neighbours with lots of dogs.
Like so many others are reporting, I had a terrible time trying to get a hold of anyone when inquiring about the suite availabilities. There is a general number that you call in order to be transferred over to your designated building of choice's leasing office, and much of the time, it feels as if this message is either rarely sent or rarely transferred to the destination by the operators at GWLRA's HQ. That being said, I finally managed to get into contact with Sydney Hayman Spicer, who accelerated the process immensely that I believe would have been long and tedious otherwise! I was a tenant here previously, and have moved back to the city again. Getting in touch with a leasing officer was difficult back then as well, but it appears to be more difficult now. Props to Sydney, as well as Matt Magnatta back a few years ago, not sure if he still works here for setting an example that I hope other colleagues take note of. Both of these leasing officers went above and beyond to ensure that the move was as smooth as possible. As for the building itself, it appears to be upgraded significantly since the last time that I was here. Amenities appear to have improved in quality and quantity. Apartment seems to be in great condition upon moving in. I did not note any vermin in the building as a few other tenants appear to note in their reviews, but I can only speak for 40 High Park.
I have been living at 66 Pacific Avenue since last year, however; my lease is finally getting over to next month.I would like to let new tenants know that be aware of this bug. They are everywhere in the unit such as; kitchen cabinets which is terrible, living room, bathroom and even bedroom. How many times I booked appointments for pest-control but nothing is working. That was horrible experience to live in this building.
Avoid at all costs. Theft/robbery is common in the premises whether it is a laundry room, parcels, etc. and gwlra team does not care or support in addressing the issue. Poor management response, they just want $$$
Leasing team ... Hoping for a meeting with Ms. Spicer to hopefully finalize a rental. It's been six months. Our virtual appointment never materialized, we didn't get a call or link. We've rebooked for in person but it's weeks away...
This is the WORST building possible to live in the management is rude if you request a maintenance fix it will not be resolved it's extremely cold in the unit in winter , Sue is the worst realtor ive ever met in my life very unprofessional and never in office nor seems like shes ever working ...when our lease is up we will nt be renewing worst mistake we made was moving here. I repeat DO NOT MOVE HERE.
