Love this little store! Large selection of beer, wine, and decent selection of produce and other dry goods.

Fun place but it was pretty pricey.

Super convenient despite high prices. Great place to grab a quick coffee and bite to eat. Hot bar food and sandwiches are both really good. Decent selection for essentials if you don't feel like making a trip to a grocery store.
Pro tip: they sell day old pastries for cheap in the evening.

We were regulars at this store and spent a lot of money there.
The location is convenient, sure. And the store is very clean and nice. But the prices are very high. It's definitely a boutique grocery store. The kind of place you only go to when you need a couple things for dinner and you don't want to walk the extra 3 blocks to Safeway.
None of this is a deal breaker, however. That comes from an employee.
I am assuming from her attitude that she is a manager. The couple of employees we met at the register were very friendly. She however, was not friendly. This is what happened tonight...
Tonight we went to get a couple things for dinner and I was buying a bottle of wine. I'm a 33 year old man, WITH ID. My wife, a 30 year old woman, left her license at home. The woman asked for both of our IDs. I offered mine which she did not even look at. My wife said she didn't have hers, and she immediately and rudely said"I can NOT sell you alcohol then". Then proceeded to say "you can always tell when someone hasn't been in Oregon long...". I have lived here for 13 years and never once have I been refused sale for alcohol. Every single place I have ever bought alcohol from asks for the purchaser to provide ID, which I had, as that is the law.
So what if I was a parent shopping with children? Would I be refused sale because my 10 year old child doesn't have ID? The absurdity of this interaction left a very bad taste. If they want to refuse sale because they're overly cautious, WELL beyond the requirement of OLCC laws (look it up!), that's fine, but being that rude about it is unnecessary.
We won't be shopping there again.
