Geraldo's Italian Restaurant

I used to give this place 5 stars when we lived up here several years ago. However, after coming back after a 3 year move, I am very sad to say that it's 1 star, maybe 2 on a good day. We've went 3x now since moving back in the hopes that it was a fluke but no such luck. The prices have drastically went up (not just Alaska high), the portions have shrunk by half and the quality of food is sub-par at best now. Pizza is still good. I'll give them that but the rest of it- lacking any flavor except for ridiculous amounts of black pepper and onion. Which I love but this is overboard! And for somewhere that boasts about its garlic loving- it's no where to be seen. I am so disappointed. This used to be the only place in town to get good old school east coast Italian, but it no longer can make that claim. As for service, it is super slow but the wait staff is nice and helpful and tries to do their best. We still tipped 18% on our last try just because she was trying her hardest to cover multiple tables and it isn't her fault the food has become mediocre cafeteria Italian food. Renovations look nice, the addition is beautiful but they won't make me come back again. 3 strikes you're out.

They are overpriced for the quality of food. The halibut and escargot were not cooked properly. The lasagna really lacked the pop of flavor you would expect. The strawberry martinis for valentines day were fantastic. Service was great though.

Appetizers were decent as was the service. The French Onion soup was good. The salad bar was sub standard for an upscale restaurant and the fettuccine Alfredo was very bland. Tasted like they forgot to add the Parmesan cheese and was more like a bland white gravy served over biscuits at a free breakfast.

Great resturant. Spaghetti sauce was a little spicy. Then again, I am very sensitive to that kind of stuff. Very popular place.

Great food and drinks. Portions aren't small or out of control. Very nice staff.
