Irashai Japanese Restaurant

I usually go here with friends, but recently I started going by myself. I started sitting at the sushi bar instead, and I got to meet the amazing staff up close. They have great sushi chefs, friendly staffs and really generous owner. He always makes sure everything is going well. I love the fact that he would recommend a good pair of sake with a meal. This place never fail to meet my expectations. So if you guys are up to meeting great people that provides great service and amazing food, I highly recommend this place. P.s. try the cold green Apple sake!!! It's amazing if not, ask for pickled onion that looks like garlic(you have to ask for it because it's not on the menu!) Anyways, I love this place!

So I've had the pleasure of experiencing several hundreds of sushi restaurants around the US. Some have been great others not so much. For Irashai, this is one of the great ones. Every time I've come to Irashai the owner and staff have been friendly every single time. Not to mention the warm welcome you get coming through the door. To top it all off the food is absolutely phenomenal. I usually order several pieces of Nigiri and a special roll and every time I've been impressed with the display and the taste. If you aren't a large sushi fan they have plenty of other dishes to choose from. As a sushi veteran I highly suggest giving Irashai a shot. You won't regret it.

We have eaten here at least a dozen times now, and have yet to have a bad experience. Service is fantastic, facilities immaculate, and food always comes out quickly. All of the sushi rolls that we have tried have been great and the Bento boxes are definitely good as well. Highly recommended!

I don't know what people expect from Alaska sushi places, but in my experience, this is the best. What Southeast Alaska, Anchorage, and the Valley call good is pretty nasty. I stopped here on a fluke and was pleasantly surprised. The food was ok, but the sushi was wonderful. The rice was perfect texture and not overpowering with seasoning. The sauces were not gobbed on so you could taste the seafood. Service was fast. I think they are used to people wanting in and out as we were asked if we were ready to order about 5 times before we were ready. We will make this a regular stop when we go to town.

Sushi was good and service is nice. Pricing is awesome and the variety is worth stopping in for. Convince makes it a plus. Not the best or freshest on fairbanks but worth stopping in for.
