Story

Established in 1991, our small restaurant was opened in the heart of South Nanaimo. Brining the general population of Nanaimo our cuisine from the east, we were a hit from the start. Winning various awards for our vegetarian dishes. From our success we decided to offer our delicious entrees to all of our local grocery stores and wholesalers. This additional venture, dating back to 1996, has allowed us to share our Indian cuisine with the public in a much broader way. Living by the mantra of ‘Traditional authentic Indian food’ we have never compromised the authenticity of the ingredients or the traditional recipes that date back many generations in our family. Not in our Restaurant and not in our fresh entrees.

The restaurant has always been a beacon in Nanaimo as the premiere Indian restaurant, with unmatched tastes from India. We provide all popular dishes and can also provide custom orders for our customers. We have also provided our food for many special family occasions including parties, receptions and weddings. Operating out of a historic complex within the University Village region of Nanaimo, we have never moved to booming sections of our city or to other cities, staying true to our location for 20 years. We hope to be here for another 20 years.

Originally setup as a family run business by Mr. Chatterjit Parmar and Mrs. Santosh Parmar. The businesses were always intended to provide the general population with the foods and drinks that they grew up with in India. Through the keen business sense of Mr. Parmar and the brilliant recipes and cooking direction by Mrs. Parmar their business has been successful in all aspects. Their prescription to success has always been down the roads of hard work, passion, humbleness, and service. They have outgrown some aspects of their businesses but their children have taken well to the family businesses. The Parmar family will continue to provide ‘Authentic traditional Indian food’ to the general population for generations to come.
