This plane's pasta is amazing! Recommended by a driver, we came here right before 6pm and got a special which is $16 including a glass of wine- very worth and the pasta and sauce is delicious! Would love to come back when I visit Nanaimo again.
What a lovely little restaurant! My friend took me for my birthday. I am vegetarian and she is gluten and dairy free. Our waitress who is also the owner had no problem recommending several options for use both and it was excellent! The espresso was amazing too! Too full for dessert, but it looked delectable! Definitely recommend it!
It's cute inside and food was fine but they had a major attitude when we politely let them know some of our prawns were partly raw.. Didn't say sorry or anything and chef didn't care. They definitely don't take feedback well and are on a high horse. Dangerous considering how fast news spreads here and we have so many clients daily, since we work at the busiest nail studio in town. Good luck. Don't think we'll be coming back because of how we were treated and all the events that followed that.
Just had dinner here and it was excellent. The pace was good, service was attentitive, and the food delicious. I definitely recommend the arancino! Both our pasta entrees were great and so was the tiramisu. The meal portions were also solid—we had to pack up half our meals to save room for dessert. Our server was also on the quiet side, which was a refreshing change from the typical server. We will be back for sure!
Was looking forward to dinner as I had heard good things about Figo. I guess things have changed, because they no longer have fresh pasta or pizza, which is what I understood. The mussels were excellent, but the mains were disappointing. My companion noted that her dish was bland, and my pork loin was over cooked and dry. Their wine feature was undrinkable, and the food was under-seasoned, with no salt on the table should you care for it. Service was seriously lousy. When you notice my paper napkin needs replacing, I shouldn’t have to ask for a fresh one. And maybe filling our water glass shouldn’t be a rarity.
Had a lunch meeting here. Fantastic. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes. Very friendly staff and nice decor. If you're into pasta or Italian food in general, I'd give it a try.
Beautiful restaurant with simple and classic Italian dishes made very well. Seasoning was on point and the service was super friendly. The suggestion s that the server provided were spot on and completely satisfied my cravings for Italian food.
I found the restaurant "" just about had it together "" . Missing good selection of wines , i.e. a nice merlot from California Columbia Crest or some nice Argentinian reasonable wines. They offered some italian wines , seemed weak and no depth . Menu seemed limited , missing Lasagna , apparently its offered very seldom. I would say their pasta dishes were spectacular , service was good, portions were large . Whoever owns this restaurants needs to go to Vancouver and then maybe he can get it up to speed . Then he can service the customers needs . Good luck .
This rather quaint spot in Nanaimo's downtown offers traditional Italian food in a modern setting. Although a better trained pallet might discern more flavour than mine, I found the dishes we ordered including an appetizer, main and dessert did not align with the price tag. The service was good and accommodating, but the food did not seem very special. Although I intend to try another visit here in the near future, I'm not sure whether I could tell the difference between Figo's cuisine and a "chain" Italian restaurant at this point.
Every time we’re in Nanaimo for a night, we go here for dinner! The first time we ate her my mother said it was the best food she’d had in years. It’s wonderful Italian food, good service and a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place for a date, special occasion or just a good meal!
