Gateway Medical Clinic

I had very different experiences with two of their doctors. The first, Dr. Wong, was quite unprofessional in his conduct. Never before have I been chewed out by a Doctor. Why? He became agitated because I took advice from the pharmacist next door whose advice was to ask Dr. Wong's guidance on my current medication. Apparently he felt I was undermining him. He also expressed similar anger when I told him I googled my symptoms for clarity while I waited for his professional opinion. "What do you need me for, why not just ask Google." He then ranted at me about his frustrations with provincial government policy towards doctors, as if to explain his behavior. It was the most confusing, and upsetting experience I've ever had with a doctor. Dr. Keough was his complete opposite; understanding, friendly, helpful, and professional. My advice: ask for the right doctor there.

I have been seeing my family doctor for over 25 years, following him from clinic to clinic and ending up at the Gateway. Dr. McCarty reacts appropriately and quickly to any problems I have had! Have found the staff very friendly and helpful. So happy with all my care from him. Thank you Dr McCarty and staff!

I came to this clinic few days ago, unfortunately,that tall white old lady receptionist was very very rude to me. I was standing by the hallway trying to look for the washroom and She yelled “ excuse me!!!” But in very very rude tone. I did not even walk through the hallway. If she was nice person, she can simply ask me if I need help. I didn’t need. yelling because I was very very sick.

Dr. Wong has been my doctor since I was a baby, I am now 26 and he is by far the best doctor I could have ever hoped for! I have never had a problem getting in to see him even on short notice! His nurse is very sweet as well. Overall I believe this is one of the best clinics in edmonton as all their staff is very professional and very kind! Would definitely recommend Dr. Wong as a doctor, he is not only professional and amazing but he loves lightening the mood! Always makes me laugh when we go in!

Ashley is the rudest receptionist, worst attitude. FIRE her asap. We have a baby and she’s not considerate, she did not smile, her face looks upset, her tone is upset, has worst facial grimace, her looks do not want us to come in to the clinic. I am a nurse in Grey Nuns Hospital, I am a nurse supervisor and i dont accept that nasty behavior.

Just started coming here. Very professional and friendly people that work there. Doctor seems very professional and takes great care in your health. I just hope all this continues. It is very hard to find health care offices that care any more. I had to change my star count. Every time we come here we have an appointment and still you don’t get in to see the Doctor for about a hour passed the appointment time This is not good business

Absolutely the most pleasant clinic I have ever been too. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Doctors are amazing. Very knowledgeable and get things done. I will be staying with them for life. Now I know why my wife has been with them for 20+ yrs. I just wish I went earlier. Thank you Gateway Medical.

I can't say enough good about this clinic and it's doctors. Dr. Ferenczi is an excellent and caring family doctor - the best I have found. He is up to date on current research, takes time as needed to explain things and will actively seek out up to date information online during visits. He is willing to problem solve for solutions that fit with my wishes and health goals and is supportive of mental health as well. I have seen 3 other doctors in this clinic when Dr F has been unavailable and they have all been excellent as well. I never wait in the lobby area more than 3 min to get into a room to wait for the doctor. The front staff are lovely. I have had to go to this clinic at least a dozen times in the last year and have never had a negative experience. Highly recommend!

Takes a week to book with a doctor Dr Wong should not be there horrible experience

My entire family has been coming to this clinic for many many years with Dr.Wong as our family physician. I've literally seen him since I was 5 years old and I am currently 27 so I'm pretty much gonna be a lifer. Dr.Wong is an excellent knowledgeable doctor who listens patiently, and explains things so that it's easy to understand.Thank you Gateway Medical Clinic!
