Story

Famous Dave Anderson opened his first BBQ Shack in 1994 in Hayward, Wisconsin. It became wildly popular, serving up to 5,000 people a week in a town of only 1,800. Famous Dave’s second BBQ joint was modeled on the roadhouse shacks of the old South. People drove from all over the Twin Cities to fill the 50-seat dining room and 25-seat screened-in porch. Linden Hills was wildly successful and thus began the expansion of Famous Dave’s across America.
In September 1996, Famous Dave's BBQ & Blues opened in Minneapolis, and is the only franchise (out of 179) with weekly live music. Modeled after a street in Chicago (complete with an elevated train track (plus sound and visual effects) the club has won awards for Best Music, Best Blues Vocalist, Best Restaurant Design, and Best Take-Out Menu.

They had an awesome thanksgiving day feast!  All you can eat! It not only was great good but great service and the food was delicious! Thanks to  all who help make today special for my family!!! It was much appreciated!!! Am very grateful!

So happy this place hasn't been pushed out of Uptown yet! One of my favorite places to take my parents when they visit, especially on live music nights.

One of the best places in town for BBQ and blues.  Full menu.  Full bar.  Full houser of blues.  Great venue for finding national blues acts including some long time bluesmen.   The Minneapolis house of blues.  A great dining and music experience.  Very good service always.

Every time I come here is with my friends. Always a happy place to go. Amazing food. Amazing food. The atmosphere creates moments.

It had to happen at one point, I guess. The place was packed tonight with most tables reserved. When I walked in, the manager was taking a reserved sign off one of the high tops and said they didn't show up, so I grabbed my normal seat where I could see the stage. Then the hostess came and kicked me out of my seat for 2 people (mind you there are 7 seats at a high top) and I got stuck at the bar behind a pole where I couldn't see half the stage. I got a bite to eat and left. You got my $15 cover for nothing tonight, Famous Dave's, but I promise you that will be the last of my money you see for a very long time....coming from a regular.
