Extended Stay America Minneapolis - Maple Grove

If I could give this hotel a zero star I would. We arrived at the hotel before check-in and the front desk person said that they had given our room away. No explanation was given. They said they gave it away to someone who had made a reservation the day before; keep in mind that I had made the reservation about a week in advance. I traveled 3 hours to MG for a wedding that I was to attend in a little over an hour. I called corporate the next day and they profusely apologized and said that the district manager would be calling me back and explain to me what happened. They expressed that they were going to mail me a free night stay x2 since there were two people in the room, one being in the wedding. I had received nothing for almost 3 weeks. I called corporate again and they put me through to "Tammy" who is the manager at the MG location. I have never been treated so poorly that I did today. All she continued to say was, "I wasn't here when it happened so I can't explain it to you." I understand that, but unfortunately your district manager is too inconsiderate to call a customer back. In the end, I still have no follow-up, no explanation as to why this happened, and no credit. I would NOT recommend staying here. Another wedding guest stayed here, along with the couple, and stated that there were marks on their pillows, hair along the toilets, and their 'smoke free room' smelled like horrible cigarettes, thankfully they complained and all that was said was, "Oh we can bring you up some febreeze." Wow. So wonderful..... Just don't stay here.

Don't even waste your money or time. I've been to various motels/hotels and this one takes the prize for the absolute worst. I'd give 0 stars if I could. The room was still dirty (no one had bothered to clean the toilet or floors). I tried to look past it and get some sleep but laid down for an hour (on the most uncomfortable bed) only to wake up stiff and upset. I ended up packing my stuff and leaving. I thought by getting a room for the night while my home was being worked on would be a treat. It wasn't. Waste of money and worst idea ever. I did not feel safe there either.

The location is nice because it has everything you need within a few mile radius and has very nice outdoor mall area. Nice choice of places to eat nearby...everything from fast food to more high end places. Some of the staff seem nice and friendly ....they say hi when you come in but some don't say anything and just seem annoyed when you ask them a question. Rooms are pretty big and the kitchenette is nice to have. The rooms have everything you need like a studo apartment. Hallways are a little messy usually...doesnt look like they vacuum much. The outside garbage is always overflowing so they could empty it more. Otherwise it's an ok place to stay cuz the rooms and location make it worth it.

Most of the staff is rude... There was a party here last night music so loud it woke up my baby... when I complained to the front desk nothing was done.. And we're here for 3 weeks or more for my fiance's job.. The room it self is decent even though when we first got here the room smelled like an ash tray..
