We truly had a fantastic experience working with EWG for our wedding. Frances was professional and kind and a pleasure to work through the planning with. The team was accommodating of our vision and allowed us to bring in whatever we needed to make the day feel like our own. We kept our decor pretty minimal because the venue speaks for itself. It was the only space we saw because it checked every box - beautiful and rustic venue, string lights and plenty of locations to take photos, a bridal suite with a safe, and a convenient location with plenty of parking for our guests.
We got married here June 2023. The venue was beautiful and working with Samir was good, he is truly passionate about what he does and over all it was a great day. The only things we were really not happy about were 1. A lot of the food, specifically are pasta course came late to most tables, people were complaining and when they finally did get their pasta it was under cooked. Samir did tell us that they changed kitchen staff after this Incident. We also got married the same day as another couple, we were in EWG2 and they were in EWG1, so there was very limited parking. We were told from day 1 that a staff would direct our guests where to park, that did not happen at all and majority of our guests got parking tickets. Management is aware of both of these issues but not really much was done about either.nWe attended a wedding at EWG a month after ours and it went off without a hitch. I am hoping it was just one bad day for us unfortunately.
We got married this past weekend and could not be happier with EWG.nnIsaac was very accommodating from the very beginning. He always answered our emails within a very timely manner - sometimes even minutes after we emailed.nnPlanning was fairly easy for the most part. They are very easy to collaborate with. They provide plenty of options and customization for how you want to envision your wedding.nnWe did both the ceremony and reception at the venue and the room was beautiful. Both the brick wall and wood wall give a very rustic feel. The bar area is also great! It makes for great pictures if a rustic like Toronto's Distillery District is what you're going for. The rooftop is also a fun area to do pictures. Our bridal party had a wonderful time taking pictures up there. Our photographers were also great at utilizing the space to our advantage.nnWe first had Noora as our coodinator, but a sudden change happened, and we were paired with Samir. Both were great to work with, given the circumstances. Samir has great knowledge of how to shape and plan your vision. We worked very closely together to ensure that what we waned, was met. Samir will work for you. He listens well and is thorough. He caught some mistakes on some of our documents for our meal plans - we were impressed he noticed. Even when finalizing our package towards the wedding - we were able to easily talk about last minute changes and he assured us he would take care of it.nnTHE FOOD - by far the best food we've had at any wedding. We had provided the options of a wild mushroom stuffed chicken and a braised beef short rib. While we got a lot of compliments about the chicken Wedding chicken is usually terrible and dry, the beef short rib was a huge hit. We got so many compliments on how it was the best beef rib they ever had. Us, as the married couple, ensured that we made time to eat our short rib and we were just as blown away as we were at the initial tasting. For dessert, we opted for the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream - also a great hit. The one prevailing compliment we have been getting is how good the food was. Portions were also very generous - our guests were able to finish their food and feel satisfied. We also opted to get late night poutine with them. They provided so many different toppings and sides for the fries - montreal smoked meat, pickles, cheese curds, bacon, gravy, etc. Again, guests thoroughly enjoyed this and thought it was a great way to enjoy more eating with dancing. They provided fries in a timely manner when the tray finished and there was also still fries leftover from when people were finished eating.nnThe staff overall were great to deal with. Very friendly, serviceable.nnThe only thing we weren't in love with was the parking situation. They have a decent sized main lot and street parking is until 2 am - which is awesome. However if both venues are being used, your guests may have to park down the street and walk a bit. I had warned my guests ahead of time to try and get to our ceremony early to ensure they can park and get to the ceremony on time. Doing this, we only had a few guests late for the ceremony. But this a very minor thing - just something to consider when you plan with this venue.nnOverall, I would definitely recommend this venue. As a couple, we were stressed on how to plan a wedding - when I reflect on the process of what was required of us - I feel that they organize things in a very understandable way that you can focus on other aspects of your wedding without having to stress about the venue itself.
We attended for a wedding. The venue was beautiful. I would absolutely come back or look to host an event there in the future. The food was great and the venue was very nicely decorated.
Samir and Isaac have been lovely to work with! They were so accommodating to all of our questions and requests. Although we are still in the process of touring venues, they have already gone above and beyond and made the start of wedding planning so great!
