Have been going to this location for the past 5 years. Previous glasses have never fit properly too wide, always sliding down. Emma explained that I have a small head and said that Asian fit glasses are best style for me. I give Emma a heads up when coming in and she selects several pairs of glasses for me to try on. My eyes are pretty bad so this way I'm not wasting my time looking at frames that the lenses won't fit properly. I have found price I have been less than when I was going to other stores. I've had no issues with the glasses or prescription sunglasses that I've purchased. This is the only place that I will go for glasses!

ABSOLUTELY WORST Customer SERVICE ON ENTIRE PLANETS. I've seen bad costumer services, but this place is beyond my imagination. I tried on about 8 pair of glasses before I decided on the one I like, and proceeded to the sunglasses section to try on some sunglasses. The female owner Emma came to me and said in a rude voice "try not to try on too many glasses, because we can't keep up with cleaning for our next customer". I was stunt, so I replied "ok". After I selected my glasses and sunglasses, I was waiting in front of the store for my glasses to be ready. Then I saw the owner's son came out from the back room, so I thought my glasses was ready so I began to walk into the store. The owner Emma said "try to stand outside to wait if you can". I was like "I was waiting out of the store the entire time, I saw your son coming out from the back so I thought he finished with my prescription glasses". The female owner was rude, arrogant, extreme impolite. There's no costumer service here. They list their prices so high, JUST to a point to be able to claim 100% of insurance coverage. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE. Go somewhere to be treated with respect and dignity

Really pleased with the service I received here. I was initially looking to buy a pair of prescription lens-free frames to take back home with me, as Asian-fit glasses are fairly uncommon where I live and I was short on time. I needed new frames because my existing glasses frame cracked.The owner suggested that the lenses from my old glasses could be popped into a new frame of a similar size; an option I had never even considered! She helped me pick out frames and less than 45 min later, my new specs were ready. I've saved so much time and money by coming here. Back home, I would have had to go to several opticians to find glasses that actually fit me properly, and to get them glazed to suit my complex prescription would have been very expensive. The service I received was professional and friendly, I wouldn't hesitate to come here again when I am next in Calgary.

My mother in law had the worst experience at this place. She needed to get prescription sunglasses and was shopping around. The employees took her eyecare insurance information and her prescription and ordered the sunglasses without consent. So she got scammed into buying a pair of prescription sunglasses that they valued at $600.00 even. She was told a week after visiting the store that her glasses were ready. She was confused by this and didn't know what to do at the time. Finally my wife and mother in law went into the store tonight and was told they had to pay 100 more to get the glasses. The employees were extremely rude with them and told them they will not provided a receipt and to leave the store and not come back. The employees are arrogant and extremely rude and have done some shady business especially when they cannot provide a receipt for the prescription sunglasses. They wouldn't even adjust the Su glasses to her face to make sure they fit properly. I am disgusted and now have to make a trip in there to see if I can get any results. I will be reporting this to the insurance company as fraud and a scam as there was no papers signed and the purchase was done without consent. If the female employees/owner was more professional and willing to provide customer service this wouldn't be an issue. But I will have to let insurance deal with it from their end as well. Just a porly ran shady business that I would never recommend to anyone.

Excellent service for both myself and the kids. Emma is excellent when helping select frames and proper fit and look. Highly recommend Essesntial for all your needs.

I've been going here for years and without doubt Emma is the best. She is kind and professional and really gets to know you, your style and taste. This place does occasionally get busy, but be patient and she will take care of all of her customers.

Emma is the owner and she is very knowledgeable, she provides great customer service and is very pleasant to deal with. They have a great selection of frames and sunglasses.

very bad experince! when i go inside, the staff even said we are not mandarin people. how bad attitude you are but why do you have a sample character in your store! such bad attitude, never go again and my friend too and dont recommand that.

Great selection of eyewear but at higher prices than most eyewear shops. Service isn’t the best and the lady owner is super aggressive. Would not recommend.
