NY Eve dinner with friends was excellent. This is an old fashioned, Old School style place with a ton of staff who are very attentive but overbearing. The food was good, fresh and the desserts were amazing! We had trout, steaks and perch and Strawberry chocolate cheesecake and lemon pie. Incredible...the pie is to "die for" : It's not inexpensive but worth it for the celery bread alone! LOL
Stayed there August 26 to 28 2022. The celery bread was amazing and the little salads are always a special treat. I would recommend the main floor as there are chairs outside the rooms to people watch or just relax. The bed was amazing. Very clean, crisp white and huge. The only downsides were they don't serve breakfast and it would have been nice to have a little fridge in the room. I would definitely recommend this place.
I'm sure I write this review every year but it deserved repeating. I was here overnight after a bike ride from hamilton. The staff here is incredibly helpful and cares. I can't imagine it's a treat for them to stash our bike away but they always seem to make an effort to make sure where they're putting them is ok for us too. The rooms are kinda basic as you'd expect, but they are perfectly clean and comfortable. The showers here need special mention. After a long ride, climbing into a good shower matters. This is a step above, I don't know what it is but water pressure is massage level and they have hot water for days. It's something we look forward to about 50km before we even get there. This was our third year here, and we will be back! Perfect spot.
Had a lovely fish luncheon with family during a vacation from Scotland. Sat on the new outside decking. Well cooked and served by friendly staff. All washed down with a nice local IPA.Service: 5/5
We went here for a family dinner. Service is outstanding. Food is not as good as it is during the summer months, not quite as fresh but still good. I know they've done some renovations but the room we were in was a bit dark and dated.Rooms: 4/5
Absolutely the best fish, fish and chips ever. The celery bread is a must. The staff are Top notch. I drive from London to Port Dover just for the fish at Erie Beach Hotel. Personally my #1Rooms: 5/5
Super happy with the service and the room was very clean. I'll definitely go back and I highly recommended. Restaurants were super close as well.Rooms: 5/5
Awesome seafood perch with amazing celery bread one of my fave restaurants when I feel like fresh fish. I drive from Hamilton to get there! Always Good foodRooms: 5/5
Great value and good food. Didn’t know this before going but they bring out 4 little salads. They were marshmallow, cucumber, bean, and col slaw. Then, they brought out celery bread which was oh so good. I would have been happy to pay for that after knowing how good it was. But on to the meal. I got the 5oz perch. It tasted like Dutch kibbling. Very good. My wife got the burger and she liked it. Would go back, or should say, will go back. Edit: forgot the 2 servers which were awesome
I think I'll avoid port Dover in the summer all together. I stopped to have fish and chips. Having eaten at Erie Beach several times, assumed their fried food would be as good as their fine dine food. They were not fresh cut fries and though the batter on the cod was crisp, it was dark brown and hard as a rock. The meal was 65$ for two with coffee, no drinks. Mister/cooling spray would have been a pleasure in a hot day, but it was slightly cool and overcast out, wasn't appreciated. Part of the reason we went there is it was the only parking available. We didn't have phone service to pay for Street parking using the app. They have a "free" lot that Charges $30 to be reimbursed by the waitress. Good for the owners to have bought up a lot. Staff was friendly but I'll look for parking and a pub next time.
