Eastwind Drive-In

After a hike in the Gorge this is a great place to reward yourself and help the local economy. The shakes are great and my hiking partner's favorite is peanut butter. If you indulge in one of a huge variety of ice cream cone get the small one; it's bigger than most place's large. Their burgers, shakes, fries, and onion rings are great. If you saw the movie Wild, this is the place Reese Witherspoon playing Cheryl Strayed visited.

We've gone here for more than 40 years! Delicious hamburgers, fries and shakes. Expect to wait in line during peak hours but worth the wait. Tables inside and outside. Old fashioned hamburger stand that has historical place in the Columbia Gorge.

The customer service left us wanting. I was really disappointed with how highly they are reviewed but the quality of the ice cream was so cheap and flavorless! A “flurry” is soft serve put in a coke cup. I mean, is this a mockery? What happened to mixing it? I hate leaving bad reviews, but goodness, I dumped my ice cream ¼ into it. I say explore other options. I’m only leaving 2 stars because 1 would be horrible, and it wasn’t horrible, but it sure wasn’t good.

Come here for the ice cream... not the food. Got a couple of burgers today. Both were made in under 3 minutes. Should have been my first clue... Patties were thin dry cold and flavorless. Like mcdonalds somewhat. I would recommend sticking to the cones. They are pretty good. Would be nice to see hot fresh beef grilled to order. Maybe even hand pressed would make this place a million times better.

Love this place. We have been coming here for years! Be prepared to wait in line! Worth the wait.
